26-8-2008 - Hello Bellybutton... and the next step...

My mood while writing this blog: kinda sad and yet glad

We had a rather eventful weekend! Two things happened one right after another:

On Friday I saw Ty's little teensy eyelashes for the first time!! Was this because his eyes were too puffy and waterlogged for them to stick out? Or are babies even born with them?? But now they are the sweetest, softest little fringe you have ever seen! I love each one! :)

Then Saturday morning, right before his sponge bath, his cord fell off!!! It was startling cuz it was missing when I opened up his onesie then it was kind of sad b/c it is one little step of growing up... the cord that connected him to me, after being cut and clamped, dried up, then fell away!! I am also proud of his handsome little belly button.

Another plus was that he was instantly upgraded from sponge bath to a real bath in the kitchen sink! :) He was fussing till I put him into the water. He got real still and just floated on my hands listening to the water sounds and feeling his weightlessness. So right after I had the loss of disconnection, I rejoiced to see his comfort in remembering the connection of being in me, floating comfortably in warm waters...

What else could it have been?
