26-9-2008 - Maybe I can do this REAL QUICK!

My mood while writing this blog: tenative... how long will he nap?

Hello everyone! I have missed you all!!

First I had a BABY!! YEAH!! Then my computer died --- boo! It is still really sick but I wanted to limp along for a minute and give you the newest news.

The sad part is that my poor baby - so big at birth, wasn't gaining! He was outgrowing clothes but in the length! Took him to Dr last week and he was only at 10.9!! EEEEK! But he had grown a full inch in one month. So I had to start supplementing my breastmilk. Never had to do that before and am really sad about it -- and disappointed -- in myself and in the situation.

BUT the good news? On just a few little bottles a day after nursing (and nursing alone all night - every 2 hours) he gained a jot over a full pound in one week!! I praise the Lord for that headway! I was getting so worried about him, watching him lean out like that. Made my heart sick. Now I feel, with the disappointment, such gratefulness to have good "food" available for him and a hard-working hubby who pays for it (it is expensive!!) and being able to stay home and feed it to him. And he still nurses happily, which makes me still feel needed. (Thank you my beloved Son! :)

I am reading and growing and learning and "finding myself quite content in my new situation" (a quote from Pride and Prejudice - Charlotte).
