My mood while writing this blog: bored |
So I bought a cheap doppler called heart to heart from target about two weeks ago. I knew it was probably too early to try it then but I tried anyway and what I got was...nothing. I'm now almost 20 weeks and still...nothing. It's great to have found a cheap doppler but I'm not sure what I'm hearing and I'm wondering when it's going to work. I think all I hear is a kick or swishing around every now and then and you have to be absolutely quiet and never touch the actual sensor or it shocks you with a loud, annoying sound of static lol. I'm not saying it doesn't work but... It said to try around 21 weeks and up so I know it's too soon, good thing I can feel my little booger kicking me quite a bit or else I would be terrified to not be hearing the heart beat and all because I have tried it too soon. I hope it works eventually, I didn't want to take it back just because I've tried it too soon. The baby's probably still hiding in my pelvis somewhere since my belly's not growing as much as other people's. Oh well! Better luck next week lol! I can't wait to find out what I'm having! Only 4 more sleeps to go!

Saturday, 27 Sep DON'T take it back!I bought my doppler at Burlington's baby depot for about $20 bucks when i was about 18 weeks along and all i could hear for a good while was nothing but KICKS,which was awesome!I knew eventually we would be able to hear her heartbeat because the box said at about 21 weeks and up and we finally did hear her heart beating at exactly 25 weeks and 3 days.IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT.Now we can hear her whenever we want and i'm already 32 weeks along,we love it!Good luck... Friday, 19 Sep Ahhh!!! you only have 4 more sleeps till you find out what you have??!! Oh wow, I'm so excited for you!!
Are you trying the doppler down low below your belly button and then kind of pushing it in and at a angle?? That is what my doctor does everytime to hear it and somebody else said that is what you should do to try to hear the heartbeat as well who picked up a doppler for themselves. But if it does say to try it from 21 weeks and up then maybe you are too early. Hope it works for you when the time comes though!!!
Good luck..let me know what you are having when you find out please!!! mspreyes -
