26-1-2009 - Back to labor and delivery!

My mood while writing this blog:

Well I managed to get hospitalized again for premature contractions on Saturday night. Just like last time they are so subtle that if I hadn't tuned into my body and focused on counting and timing them I may not have paid much attention. They don't hurt, it's just a tightening of the uterus that starts in the back, I had 9 in 50 min before calling the doc. Didn't want to do another false alarm if it was my fibroids.

I've been put back on meds and partial bedrest for 4 days. Fortunately they were not strong enough yet to make my cervix start dilating. Gosh, with all the visits I've made to labor and delivery I should know all the nurses there by the time I go in to deliver. Baby is doing great! I am determined to keep him in there for a few more weeks :-)

I am not scared like I was at 19 weeks when this happened. Baby is so much more developed and I see that they seem to be able to help me with meds. So if I just go back to a half day of bedrest and a little less housework I think I'll be OK. It did remind me not to try acting "normal" and doing a normal workload during the day.

awww sweetie ! you really do need............to rest!....so happy that your blessing is doing well.......If he comes now ! it is all good....because he is ready ! and so are you sweetheart!

sunnymom - hang in there :) Glad everything is ok and you are not dilated yet. Just relax and slow down. Some things you can do to pass the time- journal to your baby, read some books (some good ones I have are "Breastfeeding Made Easy - Seven Natural Laws of Breastfeeding" and "The Happiest Baby on the Block". I will keep you and your little guy in my prayers. Hopefully he'll stay put for as long as possible :)

Hey sunny, seems to be summat catchin at the moment, non of these march babies wn2 wait til march to b born. Hang in there for a few more wks if u can an just make sure u put ur feet up an relax.

Are you allowed to take the contraction-stopping meds at home or do you have to be monitored regularily while you are on them?
