08-3-2009 - 39 weeks and ALMOST!!!!!

My mood while writing this blog: TIRED!!!!!

Oh geez what a night we had!!!! Yesterday I took a short walk to the library with hubby at around lunchtime and had a few contractions...so decided to rest...cos our least favorite doc is on call at the hospital this weekend (just a bit of a dufus and very "old school" with his philosophies) ....by evening I was having LOTS of contractions between 10 and 20 minutes apart for hours. Also lower back pain, hip pain, vag twinges and all the rest. By 1am the contractions slowed...then I woke to painful contractions at 3am that were 6-8 min apart!! I drank TONS of water and they stopped!!! Not sure if it was coincidence or if the hydration did it but I am SOOOOO glad. SO determined not to deliver this weekend if I can help it, ha,ha! Ate some porridge at 4am...managed to sleep off and on...had a crazy vomit attack at 10am with a totally empty stomach which really hurt....oh and of course peed on the bed cos could hardly get to the bathroom on time when my stomach started lurching...ha,ha! Ridiculous! Am SO tired!!!!! Not quite over the cold yet either so can't breathe clearly...not good for labor. So a few more days please for me to build my energy for the big l&d marathon. I have not yet seen any trace of a mucous plug or anything else. But just as we have been talking about you can go from NO ACTION to TONS of ACTION all at once! Tomorrrrow I have a 39 week sono and cervical check...I'd be very surprised if there was no progress. ) On Thurs I was 70% effaced and just barely 1cm dilated.

OMG - Sunny! You poor thing! What a night/day. We're almost there. One week left - we're due on the same day!

I cannot believe you're going through all of this at the end of your pregnancy! It's like everything is catching up for having it being so swell the past 8.75 months! I don't have any physical discomforts but I have been attacked in the emotional realm. Guess no one is blessed with a perfect pregnancy. I can't believe you tried everything in your power to hold out because of the on-call doctor LOL. Well, you're not allowed to beat me anyways, I'm due a few days before you, but it would be cute if we went on the same day :) little soulmate babies, plus we'd be on the same baby week-to-week page! So let me know when you're planning on going cause I'll try to convince my lil bub it's time then too hehe :-P

Well hopefully they will give you some good news tomorrow and things are progressing just the way you want them too. I don't know what contractions really feel like as I didn't feel any with my first birth naturally but sure felt them when induced. I did have a few early ones this time but they would just catch me off guard no consistency to them. My Dr knows about them and guess I just have to watch for bleeding if they continue over a period of time, or go into the hospital to have them checked. I only had about 4 of them so far over a month which just about collapsed me to my knees. I should be fine otherwise as I haven't had any for a few weeks now.

wow it is getting close for us all. congrats on the progression I have my 39 week appt 2moro also. Hope its anyday now. Labor dust

wow - after last night I would say you had to have had some kind of progress in the dilation and effacement process! That is wild. If that were me I might have gotten so freaked out i may have even gone to the hospital. I've had friends tell me that before labor you sometimes have flu-like symptoms too - could explain the throwing up. about the peeing - looks like plastic on the bed paid off :) Let us know how your next dr. appt. goes.
