11-4-2008 - First Trimester

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

3/7/08 - Took 2 pregnancy tests this morning and got faint but definite positives!! I took two because I couldn't believe the first one!! AF is due Sunday, so I know I'll keep testing until I get a firm BFP! I'm so excited!!

3/8 - The line was a little darker this morning. I'm still going to wait until after tomorrow (when AF is due) or til I get a nice dark line before I tell my dh.

3/9 - I guess it's official!! :-) I told my dh this morning before church. I had bought a cute little bib that says "Here Comes Trouble" and put it on his pillow when I made the bed along with the pregnancy test and asked him what was on his pillow. It took him a minute, but he's so happy about it. It was so hard not to tell anyone at church today. I usually like to wait until I'm at least 6 weeks along, but I don't know if I'll make it that long. :-) 4 weeks and 1 day today!!

3/10 - My dh wants an "official" pregnancy test before we tell anyone (other than my mother), so I'm going to my dr. the 12th for a test. My mother lives far away from me, so I am sending her a picture frame with photos of my three daughters and a photo of the positive test with the words "Coming Soon!" over it with strict instructions for her not to open the package until she calls me so I can hear her reaction. :-)

3/11 - I'm very tired today. I'm already not sleeping good. Normal for me throughout the pregnancy, but not fun. I'm already craving, too--Swiss cheese and Reduced Fat Pringles! :-P It's crazy, but I have craved that at the beginning of every one of my pregnancies!! I have an aversion to sweets, though that I've never had before!! I go tomorrow morning for my 'official' pregnancy test at the dr and set up my first prenatal appt. I'm excited about that! I love looking at my ticker every morning and seeing where the baby's at. I just look at the miracle that's going on inside me and have to think of how incredible God is. I am blessed beyond measure!! 249 days to go! :-)

3/12 - Just got home. I got the official positive from the dr's office, but also found out that my dr is moving to another town!! :-( I know my dh will want to have a dr here locally, and I agree--I just hate the idea of finding another OB. Oh, well. At least I can now tell everyone!! I sent the box to my mom with the picture telling her today. I think we're going to announce it to everyone at church Sunday--if we last that long!

3/13 - We had a time of testimonies at church last night just to tell what God's been doing in your life and how He's been blessing you, and one couple got up and announced that she was pregnant!! It's hilarious, because they still don't know that I'm pregnant and from talking to her we're going to be due within DAYS of each other!! My husband was working last night (he's a police officer) and couldn't go, so I want to wait until he's there before we make the announcement. I never even got up to give a testimony because I knew I wouldn't be able to NOT tell our new!! :-) That make 4 pregnant women in our church right now ranging from 4 1/2 weeks to nearly 34 weeks. I know of at least one more that is actively trying. Maybe it's something in the water. :-P

3/15 - I'm exhausted!! We've been having a marriage conference at church (which was great!). Late night last night and early morning this morning. We were done at lunch, but then went to lunch at Kabuto with two other families. We announced the pregnancy at the end of the conference. Everyone was so excited. I called my mom this afternoon, and she finally got the package. She was so excited!! My sister in Texas about busted my eardrum when I told her screaming with excitement. :-) It's so nice to finally get to talk about it! I have a little more nausea tonight. Not sure why. Hopefully a good night's sleep will take care of everything. 5 weeks today!!

3/17 - I have an appointment the 26th for my first prenatal visit. I hope I like the dr. Was extra queasy yesterday, and nothing really tasted good at lunch except some home-made from scratch macaroni & cheese one of the ladies at church brought (we have potluck every week at church). I know it was just me, because the potluck is always wonderful, and I had some things that I ALWAYS like and didn't care for. Hopefully it won't get any worse, though. Today has been okay. I'm a little queasy right now, but not bad.

3/20 - I feel somewhat better today. My husband wouldn't let me go to church last night I felt so bad. Just exhausted (after a 2 hour nap!!) and more queasy than I have been. I got some good rest, but I hated missing the last night of our revival. The girls are so excited about the baby. They tell it "Good morning" and "Good night" and "I love you, baby!" all the time. It's so cute!!

3/22 - I'm finally in week 6!! I showed the girls a peppercorn this morning to show them approximately how big the baby is now. They are so excited. They are always thinking of things they can do to help when the baby gets here. I know they're going to be great big sisters!

3/24 - Ugh! Actually threw up for the first time tonight. I was REALLY hoping I would be able to skip that this time. Still, all in all I'm not near as sick with this one. Day after tomorrow is my first dr visit!! I'm kind of hoping they'll go ahead and do an ultrasound to make sure it's only one. I've been in maternity since week 5. I'm not huge, but definitely won't fit in my skirts anymore.

4/4 - I have been soooo sick the past couple of weeks! It seems like half of it was spent in bed. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband. He really takes care of me on his days off and the girls are so good about wanting to do anything to help mommy. The dr. gave me a prescription for Phenergan. Unfortunately, it knocks me out, so I can only take it when I don't have to be functioning. I'm REALLY hoping and praying that this at least eases some by 12 weeks!! I still don't regret our decision to have one more, even though I knew it could be like this. I'm still so excited. 8 weeks tomorrow!!!

4/6 - Yay!!!! I was able to go to church today!!! Haven't been in about 2 weeks I've been so sick. Today was the best day I've had in the past couple of weeks! It had it's moments, but good overall. I'm still losing weight. I'm down to 2 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight, so I've lost 9 lbs total. I'm eating healthy, though, so I'm not worried about it.

4/11 - 8 wks 6 days today. M/S a little better, so I'm really happy about that. Hope it just continues to improve!

4/16 - Ugh!! Fighting a cold/allergies. The drainage is making me so sick!! Benadryl is not helping right now, either. Otherwise doing pretty good. My weight is staying down to 2-3 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, so I'm happy about that. 9 weeks 4 days today!!

4/25 - 10 weeks 6 days today. I have the worst cold. I'm even running a temp, which is unusual for me. Thankfully, I called my OB and they said I could take any Tylenol product including their cold medicines, so I got some Tylenol cold. Hopefully it will kick this mess.

1 week and 1 day til week 12!!! I'm PRAYING that the m/s will go away then. It never did with my other 3 pregnancies, but I can always hope and dream! :-P

Next Wed is my next OB appt. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again!! Hopefully I'll get a bpm this time. It was too early last time. We just got to hear it for a second.

5/1/08 - Had my OB appt yesterday. Baby's heartbeat was 160 bpm. It was so good to hear it beating nice and strong!! She said I was doing great. All of my bloodwork came back perfect other than just the RH- which we already knew about. Have to have that lovely shot at 28 weeks. :-( I got a couple of new prescriptions to try for the m/s. Reglan doesn't seem to be working that great. I don't want to use the Zofran unless I HAVE to. Last night wasn't great at church. Hopefully all of this will end this weekend when I hit the 12 week mark!! Here's praying and hoping!!

5/3/08 - Well, I'm 12 weeks!! Not the great day I was hoping for. Threw up first thing, and then ended up in bed most of the day with a migraine. Yuk! Still hoping m/s will go away soon.

5/8/08 - I've been waiting and waiting for those first "butterfly wings" flutters. I'm not going to have them this time I guess. Last night I got flips and tiny kicks!!! :-D It was hilarious! I told my husband, "If this isn't a boy, we're in TROUBLE!!" Yay! I finally got to feel my little one!!

5/10/08 - I made it to the second trimester!!! I'm going to end this blog now and start one for the second trimester.
