09-5-2008 - Second Trimester Relieved I made it this farMy mood while writing this blog:
Relieved I made it this far

5/10/08 - Yippee!! I made it to my second trimester!!! I'm 13 weeks today. Still some m/s, but that's normal for me. 27 weeks to go!

5/18/08 - 14 weeks 1 day today. I am so heartily sick of the m/s it's not even funny. Yesterday it was violent! I'm trying to get everything ready for church, food cooked, etc. and I feel awful! I hope it eases today. I could use a little relief. I'm still around 5 lbs below pre-pregnancy weight.

5/24/08 - 15 weeks today! Still tons of nausea. Feeling the baby a little more. I go for my next appt the 28th and schedule the u/s to find out what we're having!! I can't wait!!! My MIL bought us a cradle at a yard sale the other day. It's absolutely adorable. It's the kind with the stand, not just the little ones that sit right on the floor. I just have to get a sheet for it and it's ready to go. Even came with bumper pad and comforter in ivory, so good for either sex. I'm still about 4 lbs under pre-pregnancy, so hoping I can make my goal of not going over 20-25 lbs weight gain for the whole pregnancy. I was a little overweight to start with, so I want to keep it healthy and low.

5/27/08 - NOT a good day today. Sunday and Monday weren't bad, but today I've really struggled with the m/s. Did a ton of ironing, so my back and legs are killing me as well. I was glad to get somewhat caught up, though. I go tomorrow for my next appt and to make the appt for my u/s to find out what we're having!! Can't wait!

6/12/08 - Well I had a good week last week, but this week is not going well at all. I was horribly sick Tues. & Wed, and then around midnight last night woke up with some nasty kidney pain. Went to the clinic as my dr. wouldn't be in the office til the afternoon and sure enough, I have a bad UTI. :-( Lots of pain today, but slowly getting better. At least they caught it early so it should resolve quickly. Not quickly enough for me! :-P Can't wait til Tuesday, though. I get my u/s to find out (hopefully) what we're having!! I had a scare that we would have to postpone it until July due to some scheduling at my dh's work, but the Lord worked it out and we're a go for the 17th! I can't wait!!!!!

6/23/08 - Insane week this past week. I ended up back in the ER on the 13th with a kidney stone. Not fun!! Feeling better now, thankfully. I had my u/s on Tues. and they said it's another girl!! My husband is thrilled. That makes 4 girls now. Unfortunately, they also found a cyst in the baby's brain which is probably nothing, but something to keep an eye on, and it looks like I also have a complete placenta previa, so if it doesn't move I'll be having a mandatory c-section. :-(

Wed. morning early my pastor's wife and very dear friend passed away after battling cancer. She was only 48. She was the godliest woman I have ever known. If this baby is indeed a girl, we are going to name her Pamela Joy in Miss Pam's honor, and call her Joy.

Well, I have my regular dr. appt. Wed, so we can talk more about the u/s results and see what extra tests may need to be run, restrictions I may have, etc. I'm really fine, though. A lot of people are freaking out more than I am. I know that God is in control, and we have total trust in Him that He will do what is right. We don't have to understand it, just have faith in Him. I refuse to worry about it. It will just make me more uptight and anxious and neither the baby nor I need that. She's kicking daily now. I'm just enjoying feeling her and can't wait to finally meet her in a few months! :-)

6/28/08 - 20 weeks today!!! Everything's going pretty good right now other than Joy is wanting to dance on my sciatic nerve fairly often. :-P My dr. appt went well. I go Thurs. July 3rd for a level II u/s. My dr. actually said that the pictures from the first weren't real clear, so the cyst may not even be a cyst!! I'm really looking forward to seeing the baby again. It's just incredible watching that little miracle bounce around in there. My husband, unfortunately, can't make it due to work. :-( I'm hoping I'll at least get some good pics to show him if not a video.

Well, we've had 4 women pregnant at our church this year so far. Two have delivered already and the 4th just found out what she's having which brings it to a grand total of 4 girls!! :-D We're definitely having a run on girls at the moment. I splurged a couple of days ago and bought 2 pink blankets. One nice super plush one and a patterned receiving blanket. They were on clearance, so I didn't feel too bad about it. ;-) It was just fun to go buy something girly.

7/4/08 - I had my level II u/s yesterday. There was NO cyst in the baby's brain and I do NOT have placenta previa!! Not only do I not have a previa, the tech said my placenta was "miles away from previa"! That's my God!!! People have been praying all over the world for us, and He definitely answers prayer!! I know it could have been answered with a "No", but I'm so glad the Lord decided to give us positive results. I am so thankful!! They said the baby is developing perfectly. They measured her weight at 11 oz, and said she is right on target with everything! We got about 8 min. of video and it was incredible!! You can watch her opening and closing her mouth and even see her tongue sometimes! She's bouncing back and forth between breech and transverse right now. It's so funny, because her feet stay up by her head. At one point on the u/s when they had it in profile, you could see her hand grabbing and playing with her leg while her foot was right over her face and she was wiggling her toes!! It was so incredible to watch! I'm already getting anxious to meet her. I don't want her to come too early, I just want time to fly!! :-D

7/10/08 - The whole family's been sick for a week with some kind of cold crud. DH and the girls are much better, but I'm still feeling yucky. Other than the sickness, though, things are going great. Tues night (7/8) dh finally got to feel the baby move!! She gave him two nice kicks. It was great to finally get to share that with him! We'd tried a couple of times, but once she wasn't kicking hard enough, and the other time she was in a mood and refused to move if anyone--including me--touched my belly. 22 weeks in 2 more days!

7/12/08 - 22 weeks today!! Everything is going nicely. My two oldest girls got to feel her kick yesterday. The youngest (she's 6) said she didn't feel anything, but I think she just doesn't know what it's supposed to feel like because the baby gave her two good kicks right on her hand. :-) Ah, well. I'm sure she'll feel it further along when Joy is kicking even harder.

7/25/08 - Yay! DH got home this afternoon after being out of town for a week!! Talk about perfect timing, a couple of hours later we were laying on the bed watching a movie and chatting when Joy stuck a foot or something out and just held it there! He got to feel the little hard bump and was so thrilled. That's the first time she's done that!

7/28/08 - Ugh! I am now on my second uti for this pregnancy!! :-( I had to leave church right after we ate lunch yesterday and go in to the clinic as there was actually blood in my urine. They said I have a nasty uti and gave me another round of antibiotics. Miserable! Thankfully I still had the low dose pain pill they gave me with my kidney stone a few weeks ago, so I took a pain pill and phenergan last night. I slept great for the first time in awhile.

Made it to week 24! Boy, it's getting close to the third trimester!! Time is flying.

8/11/08 - Wow! I'm a little behind on updating this! 26w 2d today. Things have been interesting lately. The following Sunday after the last post I never made it to church at all. The pain started up around 8:30 that morning so I took a pain pill and stayed home. It didn't seem to help, so I took another about 45 min later. (They gave me low dose pills that are safe to take 2--I just start with one so I can take the smallest amount possible). That dulled the pain to bearable for an hour or so, then it came back full force. After 20-30 minutes of agony, I passed another kidney stone!! :-( This is getting really old! I figure that with all the water and cranberry juice I've been drinking for the infections, I just flushed another stone out of my kidney. Hope that was the last one! I still struggle with some intermittent pain and pressure, so who knows. The tests came back clear--finally. I'm just trying to keep my system flushed and hope none of it comes back.

Now, however, I'm dealing with back pain and sciatica. There are times I have to just hold onto whatever I'm close to for a few minutes as the pain is so bad I can't move. Some days are better than others. I'm definitely looking forward to the end of this pregnancy! :-P

Joy is as active as ever--if not more so! She lives up to her name. She is such a joy to me. I love feeling her (and sometimes watching her!) move around in my tummy. I can't wait to finally hold her in my arms!!! The girls want to meet her so bad they can hardly stand it. They're always talking to and kissing my belly. This child is so loved already. I know we're going to have to be careful or we're going to spoil her rotten!! :-D
