18-8-2008 - Third Trimester

My mood while writing this blog: Gettng Excited!!

8/18/08 - Wow!! Can't believe I'm already in my third trimester!! It really brought it home to me how far along I was when my dr. said I'm starting on every 2 weeks already!! 27w 2d today. Time is flying. I watched a little of the Olympic gymnastics last night, and I think it inspired Joy. That is the most active she has ever been!! I'm talking over an hour of almost constant kicks, flips and rolls. My stomach was moving like crazy!! It was hilarious! Anyway, so far everything is good. I refused the glucose test at my last appt. I tend towards hypoglycemia, and have been really nauseous again. I knew if I tried to drink that stuff I would just throw it up and/or pass out. I actually have a glucose monitor, so I'm keeping an eye on my numbers and if they go high I'll just call my dr. So far they are normal. I do have to go this week and get my Rhogam shot. :-( NOT looking forward to that!! I have to go to the hospital to get it, so I'm just going to go ahead and pre-register while I'm there. Might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone! :-P

9/30/08 - Hmm. I think I've been a little slack in keeping this up to date! I think this has been my worst trimester so far. I've really been battling gallbladder problems. If I wasn't pregnant, I would just do a gallbladder cleanse, but I can't really do one until after the baby is born. So, I just suffer. Unfortunately, I've lost a little weight due to the nausea that accompanies it as well as finding it hard to eat much at a time being afraid something will bring on another attack. I'm back down to just 2 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. Thankfully, Joy seems to be thriving. She is sooooo active. I'm measuring perfectly, too, so that's a relief. I'm getting so anxious to meet this little one!! We finally got the dresser sanded, painted and new knobs on. I lined the drawers with contact paper and it's ready to go. My MIL bought us a car seat, so we're ready for her!! Yes, there's still stuff to do, but none of it is that big of a deal if she comes before we get it done. One of my friends gave me a bag of clothes--mostly sleepers--so even if for some reason my shower doesn't happen until after she's born, we'll be okay. 33w 3d today!!

10/22/08 - 36w 4d today. My dr. checked me this morning and I'm dilated to 3!!! Not thinned very much, but that's okay. We're hoping for this weekend. My dr. is on call all weekend, and it would work best with my husband's work. I've been having lots of contractions, lost my mucus plug, etc, so Fri if nothing's happened I'm going walking!! :-) I can't wait to meet this little one!!
