| 18-6-2011 - Irelynn's birth story......Finally!! | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
I went in at midnight on May 18th. I was still only dilated a fingertip when I got there. It took 3 nurses 4 times just to get my IV in, I had bruises all over my arms!! I was like Sheesh...I'm not even to the labor part yet!! They gave me the first dose of Cytotec at 1am. They checked me at 5am and I was 1cm, they then gave me the second dose of Cytotec. Not much was happening. They started Pitocin at 9am and I was still 1cm. The contractions were getting stronger and stronger. It was about 1pm and I requested they check me, I was hoping I had progressed. Nope....still a 1. This went on until about 7pm. Still no progress!! My doctor had came in and decided to stop everything and try the next day. :(
He decided to try Cervidil this time. They inserted it at 10pm and took it out at 6am. The nurse checked me then and I was a 2! My doctor came in at 10:15 and broke my water....I thought he was trying to kill me!! :) And then started Pitocin again. The nurse checked me at 11:30 and I was 4cm. Woohoo!! I decided to go ahead and get my epidural then. After that things started moving. At 1:30 I was a 6. It was about a centimeter an hour after that. At 3:40 the nurse checked me and I was an 8. And at 4 I was ready to push!! I had to wait for my doctor to get there.
I pushed about 6 times and Miss Irelynn Willow was born at 4:24pm on May 19th! She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. Perfect!!
I am breastfeeding but I do have to supplement due to my breast reduction 7 years ago. She is absolutely perfect and Big Sister Channelar Marie is so proud!! She is a great help.
