30-6-2009 - Holding on to hope. worried stillMy mood while writing this blog:
worried still

We had are second opinion appt today. Let's just say the dr's were both amazing. They did another level 2 this time a perinatologist did and she took over 100 diff pics of the baby and measured and remeasured everything like 4 times just to be sure she was very thorough. Well the new measurements are left side anywhere from 10.1 to 11 and right side anywhere from 11 -12. So pretty much the same as last week. They did however find a small bright spot in the babies heart that the dr called a calcification. She said it could be a mild marker for downs' but with my number 's from my Nt scan she doesn't seem to worried that that's what it is. She seems to think that both the calcification and the mild VM are both caused by a viral infection I caught and passed to the baby. There is no real way of knowing with out an amnio, but she seems kind of certain. She did not order any other test and stated very adamately that she will not be reccomending termination at this point. She just wants to watch the babies growth very carefully in the coming months. So we go back on july24th for another level 2 and a fetal echo. We are hoping the ventricles stay the same or shrink but I will be totally happy with them staying the same. And we are also hoping that they don't find anything wrong with the heart during the echo except the bright spot which in th dr's words will not affect the heart function or the baby at all. So for now it will be a watch and wait game hoping things don't get worse. I def will be praying everyday for my little bean.
