03-3-2009 - fender bender

My mood while writing this blog: ok

We'll last night, we were driving home from a basketball game. My husband I were in seperate vehicles because we went straight from work to the game. My husband was 2 cars ahead of me. We were driving on a 2 lane farm road. When I saw a deer on the other side of the road in the grass. I didn't think much of it, because in Texas there are lots of deer everywhere. Anyway, all of a sudden it, darts across the road and comes running in front of me. I hit the brakes, but I still ended up hitting it! The deer was severly hurt, but wasn't dead yet.

I hit it on the drivers side bumper. There was deer hair and blood on the front of my suv. It knocked my fog light completely out, and bent and broke the bumper. It looks like I will have to have the whole bumper replaced.

I am fine and my step son is fine too. So, I am blessed that neither of us were injured. It could have been much worse. I was a little worried that it might have jarred the baby or that something might be wrong. I have my next doctor's appointment next Thursday. So, I might as for an extra ultra sound then.

As far as the car goes, I will end up having to turn it into insurance because the repairs will be more than the insurance deductible. It just figures that something would happen to the car. I just paid it off in December. I told my hubby; "I hope that nothing breaks on it." I didn't think to say, I hope that I don't have a wreck and damage it. LOL>>>>> I am trying to look on the bright side.
