| 24-8-2009 - Friday and the weekend | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
Hi Ladies,
Thank you for your concern. It turned out to be a false alarm. I was having contractions fairly regularly but they must have been Braxton Hicks. I did leave work and go see my doctor. I really didn't want to go to Labor and Delivery and waste their time if it turned out to be false labor. Which is was. I wasn't dissapointed though since I had a baby shower planned for Saturday. AND... I did not want to miss my shower.
So, Friday, I met my hubby for lunch. We'll it turned out that his whole teaching team came for lunch too. They surprised us with a baby shower lunch! We were both totally surprised. They all chipped in and bought us our baby bassinet. It was a wonderful surprise.
My shower on Saturday was so much fun. We had a great time visiting with friends/family and chowing down on some terriffic food. We had about 30 people there. We received so many wonderful gifts. We will be returning many of the clothes because we already have so many. We plan to exchange them for a high chair, diapers and maybe some 12 month and older clothes. Other than the high chair, we received everything that we need. Oh, and we didn't play and baby games. I was thankful for that, because the hubby and I were both pretty tired.
So, after the shower, we got home and attempted to rest. The hubby took a short nap. I tried, but my neighbor came over and wanted to see all of our gifts. So, I started showing them to her. She coaxed me into taking everything out of the bags, sorting it, and putting things away. I really hadn't planned on doing that, but since she was helping me; it made it much easier. Looking back now, I am thankful, that she made me and took the time to help out. Otherwise, It would all still be sitting in the middle of the room in bags.
Then we jumped in the car, went to Costco and picked up chips and dips and headed out to a birthday party. We visited, ate barbque and then headed home. I think that we were both in bed by 09:30 pm.
Sunday morning, we woke up and drove to Boerne (my hometown) which is about 45 min away. To celebrate my mom and aunt's birthday party. My sister in law and I went grocery shopping then we cooked for the family. Later that evening, we picked up the twins and headed home. Today was their first day back to school. My poor hubby is having to get one of the boys to school at 6:30 am for Athletics (football practice). To me, that is pretty early for middle school practice.
Sorry to keep rambling and bore you all. I hope your doing well. I didn't hear of any deliveries over the weekend. OH>>>>> Ladies, the next full moon is on Sept 4th.......
