24-4-2009 - 1st Prenatal Appt.

My mood while writing this blog: Tired

Well hi all. Monday was my first prenatal appt and all went good. I got there and everyone was so friendly. I did tons of labs done and then afterwards felt like I was gonna pass out. I met with the OB Nurse first and then met with the U/S tech.

I had thought I was along the lines of 9 weeks pregnant but according to the U/S this little peanut snuck in there. I was 5 weeks and 6 days so the tech said you are 6 weeks. So, after the U/S I asked to meet with the doctor just to see her thoughts on it. She said had I gotten positive tests after I was due for my period in the middle of March she would be concerned. Since I didnt she says I ovulated late which is why I never started in March and when I started getting positive tests last week was perfect and right on time.

So, I asked her if all looked good and she said yes. She wasn't concerned and told me that miscarriage rates drop after seeing the beartbeat and baby in uterus. I was completely stoked because the last 1 miscarriages I had always wondered if they were making it to the uterus or what as they never would see anything and one of them thought maybe ectopic. Anyhow I did ask the doc for progesterone just in case I had any issues with it I would have it covered up until week 12!!! The office is amazing and so very friendly.

I am so very hopeful and can't wait until weeks 10 to 12..so I can relax some. I will post the first U/S pic!!
