| 23-3-2009 - Lucy | My mood while writing this blog:Proud |
Lucy is my 7 year old daughter (will be 8 on 22nd April). she is in year 3 of Junior's.
Last week i went to pick her up from school on friday and found out that she had been chosen as Pupil of the Week. she was given a Certificate, had her name called out in assembly and has also been given the gold jumper to wear all of this week.
She was awarded this for "always being ready without being asked". (if only she was like this at home lol)
i am so proud, she has done so well since starting at this school in January. she had 100% attendance up until last week when i made her have two days at home as she was so sick but even then she actually wanted to go into school.
she had a lot of problems at her old school (she was there for 4 years) and in the end i had to move her as she was missing days off school as she was telling us she was ill (turned out she was being bullied) and also she had stopped eating her dinner thanks to some of the older kids calling her fat (she weighs less than 4 stone)
She got up this morning very happy and came strolling down the stairs wearing her gold jumper looking all smug with herself. it was funny to watch her.
i can't believe how grown up she can be, it seems so strange to say that i have an (almost) 8 year old daughter. we're not had the best of times with her behaviour and such like. i had post natel depression after having her and i have blocked her first year of life from my head. as much as i try to remember it i can't.
and now it finally looks like we are turning some sort of corner. she is being better behaved, she's eating, she's loving her school and her baby brother. for once it finally seems like we're doing alright.
WOOHOO FOR LUCY AND HER GOLD JUMPER XXXX
