| 07-7-2009 - Big John | My mood while writing this blog:pretty good, slightly tired |
Time for John's update.
I can't believe that next week he will be 8 months old. time is going by so fast.
despite teething for the last 5 months he still does not have any peggies. i can see white bumps under his bottom gums but they haven't yet broke free.
He absolutely loves his food, i've just started him on Stage 2 jars, and i was worried about how he was going to cope with the food being bumpy and having bits of spaghetti, rice etc in there but he has been absolutely fine with it. He's also started having the odd chip off my plate and crusts of my sandwiches and he goes mental for them. the only problem now is when we (me, andrew and lucy) are having our tea he will just screech at you until you give him some.
and talking of screeching that is his new favourite thing to do. He's not screeching because he's upset or anything like that, he will quite happily be playing and screeching away. i honestly think he likes the sound of his own voice. He seems to do it more in the evening than at any other time of the day.
He's taken to getting up at 6.30am as well now but i can't really blame him as the sun is rising pretty early these days so the bedroom gets really light which obviously wakes him up.
He's not crawling yet although he does like to spend time lying on his tummy, he just hasn't figured out how to put his knees up under his body. i'm sure he will do it in his own time.
He still hasn't rolled over yet but i think that by now (8 months) he isn't going to do it.
i bought him a baby walker about 4 weeks ago and he LOVES it. when i first put him in it i just assumed that he would spend all his time going backwards as ALL of the babies that i know (including Lucy) have never gone forwards in theres, at least not until they have had the walker for a while. but John's first time in the walker and he was off practically running around the room. it's really funny to watch him in there as he really concentrates when he's going round things. i can't believe how well he has took to it. he zooms everywhere.
i had him weighed last week and he's weighin in at 20 pounds 4 ounces and according to the red book chart he is just under the 75 percentile line, he's been following that line now for about 4 months so i know he is gaining enough.
He finally met his little girlfriend (lol i've got him married off already) Grace Niamh (born APril 13th) and i think he was pretty impressed with her. he did try and grab at her head though. i have a couple of pics with them together which i will try and put up soon.
(i've got loads of pics of John to put up and i PROMISE i will do soon - i;ve got a memory like a fish and keep forgetting to bring my camera into work).
That's pretty much all i can think of at the minute.
Hope everyone else and their littles ones are doing good. love to you all.
Tracey
