13-10-2009 - in serious amounts of pain

My mood while writing this blog: sore

You girls will not believe how much pain i am in. Well anyone who has suffered with absesses might know lol.

Do you remember a few months ago when i blogged about my toothache well ever since then i have suffered really badly with my teeth. roughly a month ago i had an absess on the left side of my jaw, i was in huge pain for just one day and then my jaw clamped shut, i couldn't fit a malteaser between my teeth just for you to have an idea of how small the gap between my teeth actually was.

Once i was finally able to open my jaw my dentist took out my left bottom wisdom tooth (had the top wisdom teeth removed when i was 17/18) and the relief was immense.

Well roll on another month and guess what it's happened again.

Thursday 8th october - i get searing toothache on my right hand side, and i mean it was soooo painful i was holding my head with hands.

later that night as a result of the toothache and also a blinding headache i ended up being violently sick all night again.

Plus my period started :-(

Poor Andrew was out on this day and the minute he walked in i just burst out crying. (i am the biggest mard ever when i'm not feeling well lol)

Friday 9th October

still feeling pretty ropey and still had toothache.

Saturday 10th October

Promised Lucy i would take her to my friends shop opening in the Lowry Mall so i struggled out even though my jaw was throbbing.

Saturday night - pain in jaw getting worse.

Sunday 11th October

woke up with my right bottom side of my jaw completely swollen, hurts so bad to touch my face, luckily my jaw was still able to open so was able to have some dinner.

Sunday night - my jaw starts closing up again.

Monday 12th October

i ring my dentist ahhhhhhh she's on holiday for two weeks. in serious amounts of pain and starting to get worried about my throat closing up. i mean imagine if i'm sick again, there's a high risk of me choking myself.

Tuesday 13th October

TODAY

rang my dentist back and explained to the receptionist exactly what was going on. She is going to talk to another dentist and ring me back.

get phone call in work from Dentist. they are going to see me at 12.30pm today, so i've got roughly an hour to wait now.

had a word with my boss in work about me leaving to be able to get to the dentist. explained what was going on and now he's saying maybe i'll be best off just going straight to the hospital. i think for now i will just go and see my dentist, my boss thinks maybe they will be able to give a muscle relaxant so that i will be able to open my jaw.

it's horrible not having the use of your mouth. i LOVE LOVE LOVE to talk and even that hurts plus when i do speak because i'm having to take care with everyword i am now talking with a slight lisp. everyone in work is pretty amazaed at me cos this is the quietest i've ever been.

to give you an idea of how closed up my jaw is now. imagine you were eating a slice of toast. well with my mouth as it is i have to slide the toast through the gap in my teeth and it only just fits.

OK it's now 1.30pm and i'm back from the dentist. they have prescribed me Amoxicillin (antibiotics). i'm to take 2 straight away to try and build my immunity back up.

The dentist said that on a previous x-ray you can see the start of the problem and it's very close to my nerve. he said the nerve has probably died and an infection has spread around all the muscles on that side which is why my jaw has clamped up. he also said it has infected my lymph nodes on the side of my head which is why my jaw is so swollen.

i asked him how long it will take for the tabs to kick in and he said 24 hours so by this time tomorrow i want to be at least in alot less pain and fingers crossed able to open my mouth abit at least enough to put some nice food in there lol.

give me labour any day lol (joke)
