My mood while writing this blog: loving the snow

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

Well it's a new year and a new start for me. its time i grew up and started taking responsibility for the mistakes i have made in previous years.

i have so many plans and things i want to achieve but to do this i have to make some sacrifies. i have decided to start saving a small amount each week to put away as i would really love to take Lucy and John on a holiday this year. what i want to do is book a caravan in Wales for a couple of weeks. i went there as a child and had an absolute blast. i really want to do this whilst the children are still young and before they start asking to go abroad lol.

i want to decorate my whole house starting with my downstairs first. Lucy really wants her bedroom doing as well. i think now she's getting a bit older she's going to want to start having friends over for a sleep over and i would really love to give her a more grown up girls room. i would love to get her a dresser with mirror, little chair etc as she is a real girly girl and that kind of thing she would love. I also want to get a table unit set up in her room so she can keep her important things out of the way of her little brother.

i want to decorate my kitchen after the living room. i would love to be able to get a table in there but i think it's to small really. i might get a breakfast bar put along one wall though with a couple of stools it should look pretty good.

OKAY UPDATE TIME

Christmas was great in the end. Stayed home with Andrew and the kids, cooked the lunch, John was more into it this year. he hasn't really got the hang of getting the wrapping paper off but he tried bless him. He was more than made up with his new toys. My mum got him this toy that shoots balls out of the top. Which is brilliant and John really loves it but i spend half my time chasing around after the balls lol. Still keeps me active.

Lucy enjoyed the toys she got. My mum got her a DS Nintendo and since christmas day she has been glued to it. saying that as soon as she's in bed and John's asleep i'm on it.

Lucy's doing really well at school (apart from the fact that i found out at parents evening that she hasn't handed in any homework at all) i was pretty surprised by that as she loves doing her homework, she does it the first day she gets it. i asked Lucy where she had put all the homework but she can't remember.

John's doing brilliantly and is coming along a right treat. and he's a walker now WOOHOO. he took his first steps on the Saturday the 19th December. i saw him do it which i am so pleased about as i missed Lucy's first steps. The furthest John has walked has been across the living room which to him is probably about 20 or so steps. he looks so pleased with himself it's cute.

He is still loving bath time. He gets so excited and splashes water about everywhere, i have to crouch at the side of the bath with a towel covering me just so i don't get wet.

OH and we have had snow which is a miracle. i really can't remember when it lasted snowed. probably roughly 20 years ago when i was kid.

Lucy absolutely loved it and we made our first ever snowman. this was just before christmas. then the snow all melted and we were left with dangerous ice. but i got up today, looked out of the window and we had about 6 inches of snow which is the most i have ever seen with my own eyes.

i have made it into work but there is only 4 of us here. everyone else is snowed in lol. still makes for a quiet day for me to be on here lol.

My dad had a really bad accident the day after boxing day. he was on his way to my house with shopping (bless him he always turns up with treats lol) and he tripped on my road, landed on his shoulder. he went to the hospital the next day and he has fractured his shoulder, his rib, bruised and twisted his knee. he is absolute agony. He has been signed off work for at least a month and the fracture clinic have told him that because of where his fracture is in his shoulder he could end up needing an operation. really hope it doesn't come to that.

One of my best friends has just got engaged and has asked me to be a bridesmaid. i can't wait i've never been a bridesmaid before and seeing as Andrew won't marry me i will probably never really get the chance to dress up in a pretty dress (dresses aren't my thing at all) so i'm pretty excited about that. not sure when she's planning on getting married though as money is tight for us all at the minute.my only problem is she's only 5 foot tall and i'm 5 foot 10 so i'm going to tower over her. she better not make me wear heels as i'm self conscious about my height as it is lol.
