16-5-2008 - Week 16 Update

I went to see my midwife yesterday. We heard the heartbeat with the doppler. We also heard an intelligent conversation...damn that is one good doppler. Apparently it picks up cell phones and radios. It was quite annoying actually. But, we heard the heart beat. Luckily I have the luxury of hearing it anytime I want though, since I bought the doppler off of Ebay!

I didn't have any questions, so it was a quick visit. She said my uterus was about 1-2 inches below my belly button. Oh, and I have gained 2-lbs. I knew I was going to gain this visit, because I haven't been throwing up much at all in the last 2-3 weeks. So, now the weight gain is starting.

My throat is sore this morning too. I really think it is from all the heartburn that I had yesterday. I kept taking tums and drinking milk. Hopefully I don't have the heartburn today.

I felt the baby move for sure this morning. It had to be it. It was sooo light feeling..I just keep having doubts. This is my 2nd time around...supposedly I am going to reconginize it. Seems just like the first time...keep thinking was that something or was it not. Well, I just know that it was this morning. Waiting for it to happen again. Yay!

Also...to include in this weeks update... We (my inlaws) decided to plan a 3 day 2 night vacation to St. Louis June 20-22. I have my anatomy scan for June 19th...so it works out great. I am just excited to be going somewhere. I hope it doesn't fall through.
