Well, I updated my page again. I seem to visit this site once every 3-4 months. I am loving being a doula and childbirth educator. I am also enjoying having a 3 and 5 year old. They are at a great stage. Of course it is still hard being a parent to young kids and I crave to get a break from them a lot but, they are so fun.
It is getting harder and harder to think about going back to having an infant in the house. I guess that if I want more kids, I better do it now or I may just sell all the baby stuff and be done with that part of my life. I am quite enjoying being a part of other people start families in my doula and educator role.
I have attended almost 10 births now since the almost 2 years since my training. I didn't really start actively attending births until 15 months ago. I am hoping to pick up another client before Christmas. I am trying to get an interview set up with a couple that are due the first part of December. The birth would be in my town, so no traveling over an hour to get there. The best part is the travel back. After an exhausting birth, it is so hard driving home. I would only have a 25 min drive and not over an hour!! The best thing ever.
The great news right now is that they are opening up a free standing birth center in my state!!! I hope to get more clients since I live close. I have not been teaching much. I have taught 4 series of classes with never more than 2 couples. I have enjoyed it so far. No so much the drive to the teaching location, but I enjoy being a part of the families experiences.
That is really all I care to share right now. I have had quite a drastic job situation change in the past few months, but I don't want to get into it right now. Kind of a sore subject.
Maybe next time I sign on, I will be expecting baby #3 and planning for my VBA2C.
