Write a new blog

My mood while writing this blog: Nervous but excited. |
I enrolled in a Bachelor of Education (Primary) university course. I think I've lost my mind. I just finished an Interior Design and Decorating course (kinda liked it but not really what I want to do) and I have a two year old son and a seven week old daughter so my time is already kinda stretched. The positives are I can study from home with the exception of some exams and about six months of work placement in the final year. When I go back to work I can enrol my children at the school I work at. The hours are awesome and the holidays are great. The pay is a lot more than I've earned in any other jobs too. The university fees are also paid by FEE-HELP so all I have to pay initially is for stuff like textbooks etc which are quite expensive. The negatives are that it will take a lot of work and a lot time to complete (around three years), it will take a little time away from my kids initially. I will probably have to travel into the city to sit some exams (blerk), my fees will be repaid automatically once I go back to work by taking payments out of my wages and tax returns (still not complaining) but if I fail my classes fee-help will stop paying my fees. I have also never studied at university before and I'm not sure what to expect and if I can handle the high level of work that they will expect. Anyway I bit the bullet and I enrolled and my first modules are ordered and paid for - terrifying but exciting at the same time. I am not sure how to juggle a full time university course with parenthood. Do you think I'm crazy to even try?? I only have until May 31 to back out if I change my mind. I don't think I will though.
Other topics - it looks like Rob will be getting a promotion any day now which is a nice pay increase and will let us move later in the year. Heidi is now seven weeks old, she can lift her head and roll over and she just started smiling at me at a couple of days ago. Slade is getting smarter everyday. He is a dummy baby and so I'm having trouble getting him to truly pronounce words properly but he's learning fast. He can pretty much copy anything I say unless it starts with 'S'. He can say words like mess etc but if you ask him to say Slade he will say 'ade' for some reason. Anyway sorry for the long blog post but it's been a while. A lot happening here lately. :D Have fun girls !! xo
