20-8-2009 - Morning Sickness & Appts

Ok so I had an antenatal appt (my first for this pregnancy) with the hospital this afternoon but morning sickness is being particularly bad today so I cancelled. The idea of sitting in a waiting room for anything up to two hours watching my son run wild and throwing up in a vomit bag did not appeal to me. She tells me that because it was an initial appt I have to wait up to six weeks to get back in! I think in the meantime I am going to have to see my gp for general monitoring. I considered renting a doppler but I did that with my last pregnancy and honestly it caused me just as much stress as not. ('why can't i find the heartbeat today????') I think I just need to be patient. Hopefully it won't be six weeks away!

When you get your m/s do you always vomit? Do you get body chills w/ it also? Just wondering if I was actually experiencing a stomach bug or a baby bug last weekend. For 2 days I had vomiting and body chills and doubled over in pain one night, all night, didn't feel better till I vomited. I was going #2 a lot the 1st day. It had to of been a stomach virus. Can M/s get that bad? My son didn't catch it either and I shared a spoon of food w/ him before I knew I was sick. Hmmm? Guess I'll never know. At least it's over now. But m/s is still strong. I know how you feel taking care of a little one is sooooo hard. I need a nap all the time and can't. Only when he does I can. Well take care and I hope you make it to your next appt.

6 weeks! Wow. I hope not! And I can't find the heartbeat of my little one anymore. It moves around too much. I'll hear like 2 seconds of it sometimes, but honestly I just hear kicks and punches!

Maybe just call once a week and ask if there are any cancellations. Can't hurt. They might give you one just to get you to stop calling. ha ha.

It's the same here to get in is at least 6 weeks to wait. Fingers crossed someone cancells and you can get in sooner
