12-2-2009 - Labour begins!

My mood while writing this blog: Excited but in a lot of pain

Im finally in labour! My contractions started this morning at 8:30am, 10 minutes apart, lasting for about 1 minute. At about 12:30 i called the hospital to let them know what was going on and to cancel the check up i had booked for this afternoon. The widwife asked if i had felt baby move much today and i hadnt felt him at all so they asked me to come in and checked. i got there and got hooked up to the monitors, they gave me something to eat and some juice and bubs stared kicking around so he is fine, he was just being lazy. I had quite a few strong contractions while we were there so they were umming and arring about whether to keep me in or send me home because we live half an hour away from the hospital. They decided to give me an internal to help them decide what to do. My cervix was softening and shortening but i was only about 1 cm dilated. So im back home now. contractions are really really intense but only 5 minutes apart. they dont want me to go back until they are constantly 3 minutes apart, or until i cant handle the pain anymore. I might end up with a valentines baby!!! Wish me luck
