28-11-2008 - Moving house etc RestlessMy mood while writing this blog:
Restless

My sister and i moved house on Wednesay and it was hard work! I think the hardest part was telling myself to take it easy. I've gone into super nesting mode so i found it really hard to step back and let everyone else do the heavy stuff. Its not Friday and the house is nearly finished. No thanks to my friggin lazy sister. She just sits on her stupid computer playing stupid games instead of helping me. Last night she just sat on the computer while i tried to work around her. I vacuumed and moped the floors and i had to ask her 3 times to move the couch for me! 'Give me a second' she would say. IT TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR to get her to do it. Shes a bit of a slob and i cant stand it! Especiallynow that im nesting. Hehe it sounds funny to say that. Today i even made curtains for the bathroom. She either wont notice at all or she'll tell me they are crap. She got home from work yesterday and said 'what have you done all day?' i nearly exploded!! I couldnt beleive she thought that i had done nothing all day. Did she not notice that all of the empty boxes were gone? And that HER bar and HER book case and HER stuff was all put away. Very ungrateful. Theni had to ask her to make dinner because i was too tired and she did but i could tell she didnt want to. I asked her if she could do the dishes without me because i just didnt have any energy left after busting my ass all day and she went to bed without doing them. Normally i wouldnt care except that there was still food everywhere. We're going to have cockroaches a week after moving in :( Tonight i am going to have to say something. I dont feel like she is helping out at all. And who lets a 29 weeks pregnant woman carry boxes and tables and move couches?

Anyway! Babys room is slowly comig together. Now that i am setting it all up i can really see what i am missing. and i need a lot more than i thought. Unfortunately im not working and the money i get from the government is ridiculous. I dont know a single pregnant woman is supposed to pay rent, bills, buy food and buy things for the baby on $455 a fortnight!! Its 'the bare minimum' they say. WELL NO SHIT!! I'd like to see the politicians survive on that kind of money. It would make a big change from their cushy $200,000 salaries. The money will go up a bit when baby arrives but its not nearly enough. Hopefully baby's father pulls his head out of his arse and coughs up some money. He hasntpaid for a single thing yet. I have paid for every single medical since we found out im pregnant. I added it all up the other day and i have spent over $1300 on doctors appointments and blood tests and ultrasounds and medication for HIS CHILD! And thats AFTER the medicare rebates. Hes such an asshole!!!! I cant even say i wish i had never met him because then i wouldnt have my little peanut on the way. I wish he was a better person.... or even someone completely different.

Thank god christmas and my birthday are coming up. I really hope that no one buys my presents. I just want stuff for the baby. But my family and friends all know my situation so im pretty sure they will give me gift vouchers and things like that. Which will be awesome! I already know that one of my auntys and her kids are putting money together for a nice big vouchers for Baby Road or Baby on a Budget. So i have been looking on the websites planning what im going to spend it on. I still havent got a pram! or a nappy bin- do i even need one? I'm not getting a change table i dont think. its extra money i dont have. i will just get one of the change table mattresses and put in on the dresser or wherever. Most of my family said they didnt bother with a change table, they just changed their babies on a towel n the bed or on the floor or whatever. Baby wont know the difference. I have to think cheaply unfortunately. And ive ben wondering what manchester i should get for the cot? Arent newborns meant to have nothing in the cot with them because of the risk of suffocation. Its going to be summer here still anyway so he wont need a blanket. I feel so overwhelmed because i have no idea what im going to need! Like how many newborn nappies should i have? i have about 200 so far, will that be enough? and how many of the next size will i need? Should i get those now or wait and see? ARGH!!

Its good to vent hehe

I would kick her. As for the nappies i think 200 is fine maybe buy one box of the others or 2 just to start you off, but i only have one box of newborns (120) and im leaving it at that.

You seem very organised about the babys room i have nothing set up, there are some bags in the wardrobe but thats it.

I hope the gov gives you a bit more than that when bubs is born, i know someone who is on almost $800 so they should give more, and then there is also rent assistance on top.

Hopefully your sister stops being lazy and starts helping out around the house. What's a fortnight? I'm just trying to compare what your government gives versus ours. Hopefully you can get everything you need. We're in the same boat so I understand.
