17-1-2009 - 36 week checkup

My mood while writing this blog: Thirsty hehe

On Friday i had my 36 weeks checkup and it was kind of weird... It was different midwife which i was a bit disappointed at to begin with, then as the appointment progressed i realised that i was right to be disappointed. She was friendly enough but we had only been in there about 5 minutes and her mobile rang. i thought maybe it was a work phone and there was a emergency but she said to me 'do you mind if i quickly answer my phone and tell my son i cant talk?' and i said yeah go ahead, i realy didnt mind. Then she proceeded to have a full conversation about some random crap with her son. i was like WTF? then she had a feel of the baby and she said he is 3/5th engaged which is ok but she would have liked him to be further down. no internal exam again, which i kind of want. i want to know how everything is progressing. she checked my blood pressure and its high at the top still but she didnt say it was anything to worry about. i told her that i have been taking iron but i have still been really really tired and not feeling well. she asked me a few more things and said that i am showing all the symptoms of severe anemia. She checked my last blood test which was done in November and she said there is no way i should have been told to take an iron supplement. she said for a pregnant woman my iron levels are "disgustingly healthy". which i couldnt beleive!! so it would seem that i was overdosing on iron haha. she said theres not many women walking around with iron levels as good as mine but she wanted to double check just in case. So she took some blood and sent me on my way. very boring and uneventful really... but i guess thats a good thing haha

Wow, that's weird. Well uneventful is good. That means everything is well with the baby.

Wow, it did sond like a weird visit! Does she always act like that? LOL! You know what? Even though I have this bleeding condition, I have a really great blood count too! They are like, wow, you have really rich blood! Set aside of when ever I bleed I pour!! Anyway, I you have a great day!!
