17-1-2009 - The watermelon-pin hole class

My mood while writing this blog: Impatient

I went to my birthing class today! My sister came with me as shes my support person because i dont want baby's loser jerk father there haha. 8:30am - 3:30pm. Long day!! because i dont sleep well i was falling asleep in the first hour. i felt so bad because i was really interested but i was just soooo tired! The midwife went through the stages of labour and pain releif and lots of other things. I didnt learn anything i didnt already know but it was still good to go and hear it from a midwife. We had lunch and then did a tour of the labour ward which was great. it really put my mind at ease to see where i would be labouring, giving birth and recovering.

Then the physio came and taught us about good posture and pelvic floor exersises and we did some relaxation which was fantastic!! we watched a video about labour and it showed women using different positions to ease the pain of contractions. After that we tried out a few of the positions which was great because i discovered that i definitely DONT like being on my knees because i have such bad swelling in my feet and legs, and being on my hands and knees hurts my shoulders but i looooovvveee sitting on the fit ball!!! feels great to sit on the ball and lean on a table or something with my head on my arms and have someone massage my back. Oh im nearly drooling just thinking about it haha. Im pretty sure i will end up in the shower at some stage too. hmm i feel like a shower now haha. Also it was good to be able to chat with other pregnant women and hear how they are feeling. the other women weren't as far along as me but some had much bigger bellies. but as they say, everyone is diffrerent :)

The class really opened my eyes. Im going to have my little boy soon!! a little person, made by me. He's going to reply on me 100% for EVERYTHING! and the thought of that scares the shit out of me but at the same time i dont want it any other way. only 23 days until my due date. Hopefully he will arrive sooner. i just cant bear to wait any longer. i loooooovvvveeeeee him so much. love love love love love
