20-1-2009 - Braxton hicks ExcitedMy mood while writing this blog:
Excited

Well last night i was laying in bed reading a book (on labour hehe) and my belly went all tight and i got really short of breath. It didnt hurt at all it was just kind of weird that my belly was so tight even though i was relaxed. I thought maybe it was just baby having a big stretch so i didnt think anything more of it. Then it happened again and i thought well maybe this is something so i got out my mobile phone and used the stopwatch to time it. This one lasted for 30 seconds and felt just like it had before. Then 10 minutes later it happened again and lasted for 40 seconds. i got really excited to i wrote down all the times for 1 hour. it happened another 5 times and they were all 8-10 minutes apart and lasted for 30-40 seconds. But then i just couldnt stay awake any longer and i actually had a better sleep than usual, which isnt hard because i toss and turn ALL night no matter what. I really hope this is the beginning of the end of this pregnancy. i cant wait to meet my little boy and be his one and only :) xoxoxox

drink some water and change positions the next time occur as they can indicate a bit of uterine dehydration. If they don't go away, its the real thing and its time to get excited! I had bh from week 26 onward. It got alot worse towards the end! When labour started, they were like period cramps that didn't go away if I did something about it. I hope everything goes well for you these last few weeks!

Your body is getting ready, i had braxton hicks alot with my last 2. My last pregnancy i had them from about 28 weeks and they gradually came more often, there was never any pattern to them but they were there. I would only start timing them when they become more painful and you will know when that happens but for now relax and enjoy the last part of your pregnancy and let your body get ready.

Next time it happens and if you're close to a laptop then www.contractionmaster.com is a great way to time them without having to work anything out. G'luck!
