| 17-7-2008 - Simple Ways to Turn a Breech | My mood while writing this blog:Content |
Babies love light and music and will move toward them for comfort. Use this to your advantage to turn a breech position baby:
#1 In bed, when it is otherwise dark for the baby, place a small torch just above your pubic bone, pointing downward (it can be held in position either by your underwear or a pillow you might be using to support your bump).
Turn the torch off the next time you wake. Do this every night until you are happy the baby has settled into a cephalic/head down position. But, exciting of all, if you do this around 32-36 weeks, the baby is quite likely to turn during the first try!
#2 Play classical music* to your baby on an iPod or personal CD player with the earphones placed above your pubic bone, twice a day for 30 minutes. Do this when you know your baby is awake. It should quickly tempt your baby downward!
Have the volume so it is loud-ish but still quite comfortable for you to listen to through earphones yourself. However unlikely it seems, the sound will be transmitted to your baby. Amniotic fluid carries sound very well.
*Classical music is well researched to be the most soothing (and has the greatest effect on brain and intellect development too). Rock music is known to cause stress.
