About Your Pregnancy
Is this your first pregnancy? No. My 8th bump & 5th baby
When did you find out you were pregnant? late November '07
Was it planned? No, but not unhappily so
What was your first reaction? I cried. I was worried and thrilled all at once
Who was with you when you found out? Nobody. I was on my own on the loo!
Who was the first person you told? My fabulous husband
How did your parents react? I don't have any parents
What was your first symptom? Thinking about babies & pregnancy even before I was late.
What is your due date? 26-28 August 2008. So I say the 27th
Do you know the sex of the baby? No (haven't had an ultrasound scan). It's killin' me but I'd still prefer to wait.
Have you picked out names? Not exactly but we at least have a shortlist now.
If so, what are they? Old fashioned girly for a daughter and modern/playful sounding for a boy.
How much weight have you gained? No idea in weight terms but a good few handfuls in real term!
Do you have stretch marks? I'm not sure. Maybe 3 or 4 short pale ones
Have you felt the baby move? Yes - since 12 wks 4 days (lying on my tum)
Have you heard the heartbeat? Yes, via stethoscope only
About the birth
Home or hospital birth? HOME
Natural or medicated birth? Natural (unmedicated & unassisted)
Who will be with you? Possibly my children & my husband or just him or just my eldest daughter or just be alone. I'll see how it goes/feels on the day
Will you breastfeed? Yes. For atleast 18 months - 2 years & maybe longer.
Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time? No but I’ll go all wobbly & say sentimental things.
What's the first thing you might say? Oh My Baby, My Baby. It's Mummy. I love you, I love you . . .(see what I mean?)
Would you let someone videotape the birth? Yes, if it were set up discreetly.
How are you feeling about the birth? EXCITED! Overwhelmingly so. I CANNOT WAIT!
