28-4-2008 - My Water birth was nothing short of Amazing!

Ok, So I had my lil Angel on the 15th. I was 36 weeks and 3 days!

A Few of me and my friends made a bet on April 10th. They both said the baby would be born between the 18th and 24th! I Said the 15th.. and I even guessed the time! LOL GO FIGURE.

I know I'm a bit late on writting this but you all know how busy a new mommy is! :)

I went shopping that morning and just felt alot of pressure.. ( I thought she was going to break my water ) My Midwife had just took me off bed rest, and I was not going to just stay home!! LOL

I came home and took a beautiful walk with my hubby and my 4 year old. I ended up having to go potty really bad so I decided to head back home. I had a few contractions but I thought they were just BH ( I was told i was in labor at 33 weeks in the hospital and didn't know it ) So I assure you I was scared I wouldn't know If I was in labor!

So around 1:00pm I told my hubby since I was pretty deprived ( no sex ) now that my midwife lifted my restrictions and I was sore and tired of being pregnant We were finally able to have sex again!

My husband is a corrections officer and had to go to work at 3 that day to work 3-11 shift. I told him, I was going to go into labor! LOL He Laughed and said its not time yet hun!

Ok so at about 6 pm that evening I started having bh again! ( so I thought) only this time I felt ALOT MORE pressure during them and felt like I was gushing fluid! I wasn't when I checked so I brushed that off. My girlfriend who I was chatting with at the time, told me GO IN! Your going to have that angel tonight! I told her I would know If I was in full blown labor. Turns out, I was and at this point Still didnt think I was! So I sent my hubby a few texts keeping him posted on the contractions even though they did not hurt at all! He told me to wait until he got home! LOL I was so NOT laughing!

Well, at about 10:30 pm I told my girlfriend i needed to get some sleep because I felt like My baby was going to come sooooon! I told her, watch I'll lay down and the contractions will hurt and keep me awake!

Well, at 11:00 pm I was Feeling them in my lower back, and they were 6 minutes apart. My hubby got home and took his shower. he asked me, Should I not go to bed? I was like uh NO, I need to call my dad and get him over here to babysit, they r now 4 minutes apart consistant!!! So my dad got here at 11:30. I put on my coat, slipped on my crocks and walked out the door!

I got to the hospital and told them I was in labor. They called up to Ld and as I was waiting she asked me if I wanted to sit down I told her no. I feel better standing. She was like WOW you must have kids already your so calm!! LOL I was only calm because even though they hurt, it wasn't so bad! I thought I'd have a long labor before I started to cry! BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!

got up to labor and delivery and the contractions were now 2 minutes apart. The nurse checked me, as she was checking she was like wow your a pro at this breathing stuff lol again, No surprise to me because still I was not in tears.. I thought Oh gosh Im only gonna be like 3 cm.. ( prior a few days before I was dilated 2, 80% effaced and baby was a +2 station) yep thats right baby was almost crowning lol

The nurse said Your dilated to 5! I about died!!! All these bh actually got me dilated? So, my midwife was not on call, so I got to deliver with an amazing midwife. I had to get an Iv put in to run antibiotics because no one could find my (negative) strep b results! SO I said I'd do it to be safe!!!! The nurse Blew up my vein. I shook my head as she was doing it, and my hubby said what? I said she blew my vein, the nurse then said I blew her vein! LOL DUH!!! I FELT IT!!!!!

She came in, and asked if I'd like to get in the tub now I was like oh hell yeah!!!! its not about 2:30am! My mom, and my twin showed up! :) So I jumped my butt in the tub, Jets and all... Another nurse came in and put in a new iv and we ran the the antibiotics for a half hour! I was so relaxed until, I said I gotta go potty!!! My midwife said no you don't! LOL I was like oh yes I do! I tried to get up so I could go but whn I moved my leg I was like OH GOD!!! I have to push!!!!

This is when the pain set in!!! HORRIBLE!!! it's now 2:56am.

Midwife asked me to lean back in the tub so she could catch baby, ( my sister was told she was goin to check to see if my water had broken ) It could be dangerous if it didnt and I started to push! I assume it did break when I was feeling bubbles coming from down there. lol I thought it was gas, but my baby was not waiting! I threw myself back (scared my hubby and mom half to death because they thought I was going to fall on baby, but there was head! I could not stop pushing while I moved back and I felt a lil tear! OMG! LOL I think from that moment, I felt very faint! My mom grabbed my hand, and gave me my water and told my midwife She is going to pass out, mind u without me saying a word my mom knew! I guess I got Pale white pretty fast! Then I gave one huge push and she was out at 3:01am! My Twin sister was taking pictures Thank god!!! She got AMAZING pictures!

I had no pain meds and I not one time asked for any! The jets on the tub hit my back and helped my back labor! I didn't have much pain until I felt like I had use the bathroom!

My Little Zoey Serenity was 5lbs 11ounces 18inches long!!
