16-10-2009 - My Journey to ventriculomegaly Happy todayMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy today

Hello everyone,i hope you are all well. I am pregnant and now am 23 weeks. My story is as follow

On 30th July 2009, i had my 12 weeks scanning and everything appears normal.

On 23rd Sept 2009, I had my 20 weeks scanning, and guess what was the result, the sonographer said it appears that our baby mild ventriculomegaly where his ventricles were measuring 11mm-12mm both of them. I was in tears and unconsolable, thats the news which any would never want to hear about their baby.So she said she was going to refer us to Kings College Hospital where they do another scan to check it properly.

I came home heart broken, but in the night i went to the internet and start searching then i bump into this website and the first strorry catches my eyes is of Professormom if i can remember the name, she mention something to do with HDA,thefore i didnt waste time, run down to thepharcy and help myself with cod liver oil with high level of HDA and EPA.

I had a phone call from the fetos nurse and she gave me the appointment for 30th Sept 2009,of which i will be 21 weeks,i was dreading for the day,but all along i keep on using Cod liver Oil without forgeting.I went to see Fetos Medicine Dr,he did a scanning, and guess what???? my son's left ventricle was measuring 7.1mm and the right one was measuring 10.1mm,i was amazed ad relieved. He gave me another app. for next 2weeks of which it was yesterday 15th Oct 2009, He checked both ventricles, the left one remained stable at 7.1mm which is on the normal range, the right one went down to 9.5mm. I was totaly pleased even the Dr said my son is ding very well, but i didnt say the secret behind the success. The Dr. said he doesnt think he will need to see anytime soon,so i should book for an appt when am 28weeks,of which is on the 19th Nov 2009.

After i had my result i said i shuld share all the mothers here on this site,as i have been following everyone's journey and it gave me a hope and faith that am not the only one here going through this. Here in the UK all of the site of pregnancy they dont talk about this problem, except havingfaith mom i have been following her story in one of uk site of i joined but it was only her who was going through the same as me.

I have been hard for my son and ever mother on this journey,i think tonight i will be able to sleep after sharing this story with you all.

Keep praying, have faith and be strong, the journey is long but we will get there.

Thanx

Hi there - just wanted to say hi as we are on a similar path I think. I am 31 weeks pregnant today... and they only found the (severe sadly) VM only on Friday so it is all a bit of a shock. I am also going to Kings College - in fact I am having an MRI there this afternoon so would be interested to to hear how you found it there. Thanks for posting your blogs too - it is great to hear that things are looking better for you and you must be very close to the birth - wishing you well.
