| 07-11-2008 - Yucky Step throat! | My mood while writing this blog:Sick |
So yesterday morning when I woke up my throat was on fire! I was hoping it was just because I was sleeping and sometimes when you wake in the morning your throat is dry and it will ache but then it goes away. Not the case. I knew something was wrong. I haven't been coughing at all so it couldn't be that I made myself have a sore throat from coughing. Nope.. this is strep throat. My lymp nodes are swollen, my ears are a bit achy, and I get these pounding headaches. Not to mention my throat is red and white and it hurts so bad to swallow. I don't have much of an appetite and when I do eat I want to throw it all back up. The doctor called me in a prescription for some antibiotics. They call them the Z PACK. I'm so scared to take them..so I haven't yet. I'm only 9 weeks pregnant and right now is the most crucial time of the baby's development. Bad enough I have already taken tylenol twice. I hate taking medicine when I'm pregnant. Another thing, I just finished taking some medicine for a yeast infection. It was a 3 day cream insert and I finished lastnight. Not sure if this got rid of my yeast infection or not, hoping to God this works. I waited like 2 weeks before calling my doctor hoping the infection would go away and it didn't.
Man.. my first pregnancy was so easy. I guess its time to pay up here. :(
I'm just so scared. I don't want to take any antibiotics but I read online somewhere that strep throat can be very dangerous for a woman while she is pregnant. I've tried gargling salt water and I've been sucking on ludens cough drops but nothing is easing the pain in my throat and I think i might be running fever at times.
