11-11-2009 - Trying again

Now that Rachel is almost 6 months old, we are officially trying to have another one. Although we're still breastfeeding, I've had my period back since Rachel was 6 weeks old. It's weird because I was starting to feel like I was ready to start trying again but was kind of scared to tell John because I didn't think he was ready. But the other night he asked if I was ready to get pregnant again and I said yes. I was ovulating, so. . . . . well you know what happened.

I was hoping that Rachel would be sleeping through the night before we started again, but oh well. She went to bed about 6:45 last night and was only up once last night at 11:45, waking up at 6 am. So that's pretty good. Although she did wake up at 2 and cried for a couple minutes before going back to sleep on her own. We're almost there though.

We're already trying to figure out if we're just going to go straight for the c-section or try a natural labor again. John wants to just go for the c-section, but I hate the thought of not even trying for a natural delivery. But I don't even know if my hospital will do a VBAC especially so soon after my c-section. At least we have time to figure that out. I did look at the calendar and if we got pregnant now at least I'd be done with the yucky first trimester before John goes to Afghanistan. That would be good timing. I'd hate to try to deal with the first trimester with a little one and no supportive husband nearby.
