My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Since my OB appt on Tuesday morning the baby has just been a bouncin' away all day; much to the disappointment of my mom and husband, neither can see the jerks and bumping. However, my Pastor and a couple others have seen the movement through my clothes.
With the baby's head "down" since sometime in February, I get curious as to whether or not it's going to move back with a head into my stomach but my Doc says not - baby 'is in the position and ready to go.' I'm okay with that most of the time, but jeez, it does feel strange. Since the OB pointed out a couple of things, I can now determine that the fingers and feet are on one side, the butt is on the other, arms are either at its side or on its head. Currently my little friend has a foot stretched into my kidney. (a few moments later after poking the little one) Better :) Armed with this new information, I've been able to tell when the kid touches its head or is "running" which feels a lot like jumping jacks! I think its having trouble growth spurt vs. his room. So when I get these little twinges that feel like stretching the fingers wide or toes it's really specific feeling.
In the last month I've had to cut my activity quite a bit. I started having contractions recently when walking and then have had them every time I walk around for longer than 15 minutes straight. So in the grocery store it's the worst (my OB says she doesn't know why her other pregnant moms say the same thing) and I use the wheelchair cart. Much better!
I recently have gone shopping to get maternity wear (clothes and bras). I chose to get nursing bras for 2 reasons, I needed a big bra anyway, I can get used to wearing these things - which are different feeling then regular bras to me, until the baby is born it'll be my husband's toys, and then if they fit afterwards it'll save money. I confessed to my husband that I bought 4 bras at 18 bucks a pop, and that the others in the stores were so expensive - like 60 bucks! He said why didn't you buy the 60 dollar one. I asked him why would I spend that much money on 1 bra when I could have 3? He looked at me strangely but didn't say anymore. Here I thought he'd be happy that I didn't spend 400 bucks on 5 bras, but there ya go. Men! In the clothing wars, yes WARS, I hate clothes shopping because more often than not I can't find anything to fit. I usually buy clothes and get them altered; my jeans I have specially made for me in Thailand. So now that there are preggo jeans that I found today in the used shop - I love them. I like them 80s tight you know? My husband thinks the granny style (from the 50s) are sexy which I think look like Urekel's jeans w/o the suspenders. haha. But I got several items to wear to work and at home and though it still erks me that I must buy a whole new wardrobe ($300.00 for everything I've bought as maternity wear) I figure they're classic enough to wear for the next couple of kids without too much trend offense.
