| 14-2-2012 - Over Due Update | My mood while writing this blog:Fine |
Hello everyone! I sure wish I would have updated way before now cuz I feel overwhelmed with all that there is to update on lol. I'm probably gonna try to keep this short tho. Things are going great for me and the kids. My son, now 15 months, is so smart and so head-strong lol. He isn't "talking" much but says things where you really have to know him to understand. He says shoe, bye, bath, juice, but honestly, they all just sound almost about the same so you really have to pay attention to how he says it and his gestures. Bath is "da" , bye is "da" but he waves his hands (guess he can't quite get the "buh" sound yet obviously lol), shoe is "shh", and juice is "ju" but it can sound like hes saying shoe if you don't listen close enough haha. He is very receptive though and does exactly what you tell him to do (when he wants to of course haha). He has tantrums here and there but I just ignore them. He started fully walking during the first week of turning 12 months I believe. That was great for me cuz I had pretty much just come home with the baby and I was praying he would start walking so that I didn't exactly have to carry both of them. It's hard enough trying to hold his hand and walking while I'm carrying the baby in the carrier when we go out somewhere. It's not often that do that tho. Most of the time I'm going to the store and put them both in the buggy. I park next to the buggys outside so that I can grab one and push them inside without having to walk with him through the parking lot. I'm not sure what else there is to say about my son right now. He's just a typical boy. Throws things on the floor, screams and yells for no reason lol..stuff like that. He's so loving when he wants to be. He'll give me kisses and that just makes my heart melt :-). Oh yeah, and at his 15 month appt on Feb 9th, he was 25 lbs 4 oz and 32 1/2 inches long haha.
My daughter is 3 months right now. She's going great as well. Smiling and cooing so much. She's so cute. But about 3 weeks ago, she started having really runny poops, and very frequent..about every 4 hours or so. I called the nurse about 1 week into it and she said it could be a small virus and it should be gone by about 2 weeks. So 2 weeks came and went and at the beginning of the 3rd week, yesterday, I made an appt for her cuz for 1, she hasn't been sleeping so well through the night and to talk to him about her poops. A few days ago she went from sleeping for 6 hours during the night, to sleeping only 4 to eat and waking up frequently in between. I wasn't getting any sleep. So I decided to also have her ears checked for a possible ear infection since she is also getting over a small cold that my son had. Well, her ears were clear and her doctor said that 3 weeks is a long time for her poops to be the way they were. He gave me some collection tubes to put some of her poop in and to bring back so they could test it to be sure she doesn't have any bacteria or anything, and also gave me a formula to try to lactose-sensitive babies. After just 2 bottles, I had already noticed a difference. She has only pooped once today, and it was almost back to the normal consistancy! I also read online that dry patches on their body that kind of look like eczema can be a sign of lactose sensitivity or intolerance, and she has a couple big patches on her arms and tiny ones on her legs. I just thought they were dry skin so I didn't think to bring them up to the doctor. So I'm almost positive that she's either intolerant or sensitive to lactose. Hopefully she'll grow out of it soon. Her doctor said that she vould have been waking up so much due to her stomach cramping if this is what the problem is. Poor baby. I wonder how long she's been suffering though. Cuz even before all this started, she would always spit up a lot..and would continue to spit up all the way until her next feeding. I never really thought anything of it honestly...until now. She hasnt spit up almost at all since she's started the soy formula. Just maybe a little tiny bit after eating but thats it. She's taking awhile to get used to the taste though cuz it takes her a little longer to eat, but she'll get used to it soon I'm sure. At her appt yesterday, she weighed 14 lbs 10 oz. Her and her brother are almost 10 lbs apart haha. Her weight will slow down though, just like hes brothers did
Well, i believe that's all to update on right now about them. It's almost 10pm here and it's past my bedtime LOL. I feel so old. I go to bed super early cuz I'm so worn out by the end of the day. I hope everybody is doing well :-)
