06-3-2009 - 38 weeks

My mood while writing this blog:
Ready

I am so tired and ready for her to be her already. I feel like she will come pass her due date because I am 38 weeks and still have no progression. I feel like im not having any signs of labor at all. I am getting pressure and the back pain still. Some contractions but nothing that will get me closer to delievery. I am hoping that I am the type that it will happen at once. Like my water breaks and mucous plug comes out and go into labor. I know for first time moms it takes longer but it feels like torture. I only have like 10 days left but everyday feels like forever.

She is still very active. I know some people say that their baby has slowed down but she seems to be trying to come out through the top of my belly. I love it though. I know I will miss somethings about being prego, but I still want her out. I want to see her face and just hold her in my hands.

Today I went to baby r us to finish last min things and came out with $500 of things we really needed. The most expensive thing was the breast pump. But i can return it if not open up to 45days from today. So if I decided breast feeding is not for me then I will return it. I also bought a bumper for the crib. I read so many things of getting a bumper or not getting a bumper and thinking what I should do. I decided to go for the bumper that had two trings on top and bottom for safety. The bumper that came with her bedding only had one string which was not safe at all. I also bought other stuff like sheets n things she needed. I didnt waste money so I am proud of myself.

Today is the first day I am trying the third trimester tea (Rasberry leaf tea). I drank two cups and will keep drinking everyday for now on. I am walking as much as i can and sexy time when i have the strength. I know this nine months went by in a blink of an eye but these last few days are like the waiting game. Questioning everypain, wondering if it could be a sign of early labor. I think im going to be the one that doesnt know she is in labor unless my water breaks. LOL I just hope its not unbearable.

Thank you all for ready my very long blog but once you start complaining you cant stop.

Hang in there, you are so close!!! Sounds like a fun shopping spree! Just keep yourself busy, like getting ready for the baby. Walking is good and if you have a bouncy ball, I heard that was good at stretching your pelvic muscles and getting you ready for labor. Best wishes for a great labor and delivery!!!

I know how you feel! Every day feels like 5 days to me! It's hard to stay busy! I also bought a bumper - really, I bought one more for the look of it because I needed something else to match my changing pad. I figure that the baby monitor I got will help keep him safe when he does start rolling around (I can watch him). Mine also has the two strings that tie. Well, take care!

That wasn't too long of a blog at all :-) I also suddenly feel like time is dragging...my due date is one day before yours.
My progress is also quite slow...I am barely having any contractions OR pelvic pain that most women are having...also no sign of mucous plugs or any other suspicious goop :-) But as the dsocs say it could all happen ANY time and all at once! I am quite happy to keep him baking as long as he needs. If I hit 41 weeks though I may get grumpy..we'll see :-) I certainly don't want him to grow into a giant in there, ha,ha!
On monday I have my next cervical check at 39 weeks and also a SONO so I'll know how much he weighs. Right now I am 70% effaced and 1cm dilated.
My baby is still quite active too...lots of big rolling moves and lots of kicking in my ribs...and the odd tunneling toward the birth canal. Wish the kiddo would just stay down there already :-)

Isn't it great to know we're all going through this together? It's the first time for me too so I have no idea of how it will go just have to stay flexible :-) Hang in there...enjoy putting finishing touches to your nursery :-) Don't forget to wash all your baby clothes and bedding in a baby safe detergent before using for the first time...also don't forget to charge your monitor and assemble your diaper pail if you got one :-)
