21-11-2008 - Appointment #2

So I went to my 2nd appointment on Wednesday when I was 12 weeks and 4 days...Adam went with me and I am glad he did...I weighed 106 at my last appointment and now I am up to 107.6 so that has me at a total weight gain of 5.6 pounds which is way better than my last pregnancy so maybe this time its a boy! So anyways at my first appointment the doctor did the ultrasound and didnt show us anything and looked at it at took it off right away so we didnt even see anything...pretty disappointing...so anyways we go on Wednesday and the nurse is like he is going to listen to the heartbeat and if he cant hear it the ultrasound room is open...so I am laying there as he is trying to find the heartbeat and alls I hear is mine so I am getting kind of worried...so then he says ok lets go do a scan real quick and right away he pulls up a picture of the baby and I see the heartbeat and I was so glad...the baby is soo much bigger than it was before! I was showing Adam the hand and the heart and the doctor was just keeping the picture up while I was explaining everything lol...I am surprised he let us see it that long! but anyways...everything was good with me and the baby so just thought I would give an update!...my next appointment is December 17th and I get to make my appointment for my ultrasound on that day...so I am assuming sometime in January we will be able to find out what we are having...Maybe on January 13th on my birthday! :)

I'm glad to hear that your appointment went well. It's always nerve racking when you don't get the results you are looking for right away. Your appointment sounds sort of like my last one. I got nervous too because they couldn't find the babies heartbeat but like yours I eventually did. I was about the same size as you were before you got pregnant but I'm already up to 120. Are you still able to fit into your regular clothes, probably huh, lucky girl!!!! lol Let me know too, what was the babies heatbeat?

Sounds like a great appointment! I know you were relieved to see that heartbeat! I had an appointment myself today for a first trimester screening. What heart rate did your baby have? Mine was 149bpm.
