28-6-2008 - PHOEBES HERE!!!!!

My mood while writing this blog: IN LOVE... AGAIN

12.30AM MONDAY MORNING I WOKE WITH MY FIRST PERIOD TYPE CRAMP PAIN........

then they began to come every 20mins or so then got closer an closer an more stronger as the night progressed, then around 7.30am i rang the hospital as they were coming around every 6mins an really painful, i was told to come in an get checked out. I was given an internal an hooked up to a monitor to check heartbeats, contractions etc. internal didnt go well, i wasnt dialated at all an cervix was still really thick...... grrrr all this pain for nothing, i hadnt gotten anywhere! the midwife told me to go for a walk round to see if things progressed. me an hubby walked round an went for a drink i had a dairy milk an a bottle of water in the cafe an each each i got a contraction everyone looked at me gone out.lol. we then decided to head back as i was in agony an they were every 2-3mins, i was even crying! we went back in an was given a private labour room an was given the gas an air, which helped. i was then given another internal around 12.15pm in such pain it wasnt good, nothing again, still not dialated an a thick cervix! i was mad an angry, an burst out crying so annoyed with myself i was going through all this pain an nothing was happening. i was then asked for a urine sample to check for infection, that was all clear. so i plodded along a further 2hrs then the doctor arrived to examine me, yay 3 cm dialated an a thin cervix, felt like christmas! i continued with the gas an air in the worst pain ever, i just kept thinking to myself i can do this, i can do this, as i really didnt wasnt an epidural it was about 5.00pm an the doc returned for another examination, i was 6cm,yay! then thats it the next minute i remember myself yelling get me an epidural!!! the midwife said i will go an see if i can get one done for you, next minute she arrived back an my waters broke an from then on i really felt like i needed to push, she told me not to push as i was only 6cm then went again to see if the aneathesist was coming to do my epidural, i then started pushing an my hubby had to press the emergency button cause he looked down an could see baby was coming! she came in an said wow thats quick an i continued to push, then at 6.03pm baby phoebe was born, an i totally FELL IN LOVE AGAIN XXXX
