24-7-2009 - Did you KNOW you were pregnant before you KNEW you were pregnant? OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

It might sound confusing, but what I want to know is...did you have that women's intuition that you just knew you were pregnant before taking any sort of test or missing a period? My husband and I got married May 23, 2009. We've been together since January 2004 and have never been more in love. We bought a house about a year ago and have been having a great time making it our own. We figured after the wedding we'd stop using contraception and allow whatever was going to happen to happen. I read that it takes the average fertile 25 year old woman 6 months to conceive while activly trying. I was hoping to be pregnant by December. Well, my LMP was May 31 and I am guessing I ovulated around June 13. It took us ONE cycle to get pregnant. I never would have thought it'd happen so soon. I am 27 and have always wanted children. I just wanted to do everything I set out to do first (go to college, graduate, buy a house, get married, etc.) I accomplished my goals so I knew it was time to try for our little baby, I just didn't know it would happen so soon!

Back to my original thought...I've been tracking my cycle on and off for the last two years and have always been very intune with my body. I know when I'm ovulating, I swear I can almost feel it at times. Around June 17 I had a feeling that this time it was the big time, my body pulled out the big guns and it was on. The only kind of symptom I had so soon was I was tired almost from that moment on it seems. I'd dream of coming home and falling into bed while I was at work supposed to be editing pictures. I just KNEW I was pregnant. I've never been pregnant before, and before the wedding never had unprotected sex, so I wasn't ever really at risk for getting pregnant. One weird thing is, my dog Hootie was living at my mom's house before we bought a house. When my sister was first pregnant, Hootie would follow her everywhere and lay by her, almost like she knew and was protecting her. She did the same thing to me during the early weeks of my pregnancy. Maybe it was just the excitement of knowing that I could be that made me think I was before even taking a test? I'm not sure, but I even told my mom and sister I KNEW on June 27th when I didn't even take a test till July 1.

Sorry for the book, if anyone is even reading this. I just wanted to remember this. I want to tell my baby I knew you were there before I KNEW You were there. ^_^

I was the opposite for my first pregnancy. I took a test and the whole time I was thinking to myself that I was just being stupid and that I wasn't going to be pregnant. Imagine my surprise when it was positive. I remember dancing around the house talking to myself and say "oh my god I'm pregnant" over and over. My second pregnancy (that didn't progress) I did have a slight feeling that I might be, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. My biggest sign was that I always spot a bit before AF arrives and I had no spotting at all.

yep....I knew every time. I had to learn to wait to take my tests because I would take them too early & they were negative, only to wait 4-5 days & have it come up positive. Congrats & best of luck for a happy healthy pregnancy!

Hey, I found your blog on the "Blog and Questions" page! I had no idea. I was just "late" by five-days, and woke up needing a wee --last minute, I decided to use the spare pregnancy test seeing as we were TTC, and BOOM! Pregnant --4-5-weeks!! I used Clear Blue Digital with the Conception Indicator --awsome test. So, I spent like an hour waving it under my mum's nose, then went to the doctor, who confirmed it. Sorry about the long story --but, basically, no, I had no intuition, only the intuition that I was "late"!! :D:D

Instinct can be powerful, and sometimes you do 'just know.' (I have certainly felt the instinct before I knew). I am in the TTC forum quite a bit, and I see many women post that they know they are pregnant - about half of them turn up to actually be, it seems - and that is a high statistic! Dogs can detect (smell) the pregnancy hormone very early on, and their protection instinct absolutely kicks in when it is a loved one who happens to be pregnant! Go ahead and share with your baby that you knew they were there before the HPT did ;)

Hi happyforest! mine was more emotional too, aside from the being tired. I swear I just knew though! :D
