| 09-12-2009 - Baby shower #1 | My mood while writing this blog:good |
So I had my first baby shower on Sunday and I had so much fun and felt so so spoiled!! I can't really stand people treating me like I'm completely helpless though!! I'm fricken pregnant, not disabled. My aunt insisted that her and my dad load all of my gifts into my car for me, even though most of them weren't heavy at all. She was like "No, you're pregnant!!" when I tried to help. I guess I really should take advantage of all the extra care and attention while I can, it's just really weird for me to be the center of attention. Everyone at the shower told me I should just sit back and take it all in, and I think I'll try to do that for the next couple months. I AM starting to get miserable though, so I don't think it will really be that hard. lol.
We got like 5 inches of snow last night, holy crap. I guess it's not all that ridiculous, but it was the first real snow fall of the season, so a bit overwhelming. Zach was so sweet though, he took me shopping yesterday so I wont have to leave the house and drive anywhere for the next few days, which is nice because I CANNOT stand winter driving! Ugh...you'd think after living here my entire life I'd get used to the 6 months of nasty winter. Gross. I don't even mind the snow as much as the COLD, I think it was like 9 below today, brrr...we had to shovel both of our cars out this morning since we have to park on the street, and it took forever! And of course Zach doesn't want me doing anything remotely difficult, so no shoveling for me (again one of the things I should be appreciating lol) but I would have much rather helped.
Also, I think I might be nesting...lol, is it too early for that?? I re-arranged our ENTIRE apartment last night...it just didn't seem like we had enough room for a baby, and now it's just perfect. I worked on it for like 6 hours though so I was exhausted by the time I was done. Zach almost shit when he got home, I moved our bedroom around and he wasn't too happy but I told him I took my time and our bed has wheels so it's not like I over-did it...I probably should have waited and let him help me with the bigger stuff, but he's over it. I dusted everything as I cleaned and vacuumed every inch of carpet and even caught myself scrubbing some baseboards! lol. Zach was teasing me about nesting last week too...as we were sitting watching a movie, I decided to finish up the dishes, and then realized as I was putting the dishes away that my cupboards were SO messy...so I basically took EVERYTHING out of all of my cupboards and then wiped them all down and put everything back--nice and organized LOL. Is this crazy?! I didn't even realize I was kind of over doing it until Zach came in and saw what I was up to and said "Um honey, are you nesting?" to which I looked around and thought, oh my god what am I doing?! lol. I guess nesting or not, my kitchen and apartment are nice and clean and I'm lovin it! :)
