14-7-2008 - Week 30 / trip to the Hospital

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Ok so for the past two weeks I have had EXTREME itching! My DR. had me take claritin then zyrtec...which did NOTHING! So I was advised to try taking Adarax this weekend....well I am apparently allergic to it...*sigh* I felt like my skin was melting off and the itch got even worse and I was extremely exhausted and anxious. So needless to say I didnt take that pill again!

But I was worried because it caused decreased fetal movement :(....So being the worried first time mommy that I am, I went to labor and delivery to be seen. After hearing my baby's heart beat and seeing her in a sonogram I know she is doing ok. Also they said I have a ton of fluid, so thats not a problem either. They said that the reduced movement was due to the medicine putting her to sleep as well...( I sedated my baby =p) But after I drank alot of fluid it flushed it out of her system and now she is active as ever :) THANK GOD!

I did call my DR. this morning (who is on vacation.....just my luck) and demanded I be refered to get the blood work done to rule out Cholestasis of Pregnancy. So she is supposed to fax me the paper work to get the blood drawn for the liver function test. I hope it comes back negative, but I just want to rule it out since I have the symptoms of it (itching began at the beginging of 3rd trimester, no rash, gets 100% worse at night, itch my skin til I bleed or cut open my skin, exhaustion, etc) Also they said if it is this condition they will need to induce early since it can cause still birth or other problems. So I hope the test shows something or they stop my itching ! I am going insane!

On a possitive note, My husband is adorable! He figured the pill just made her sleepy but he was supportive of me wanting to be sure. He is starting to get excited and not so scared of the baby getting here it seems! He was all smiles when he heard she was still doing good :) Also he told me he can feel her moving at night when we sleep (when my belly is against his back) :) It was so cute, he was like " I felt that kick, and that one, and that one ;) " He is adorable! :) I love him, ...I was afraid he was upset I was pregnant cause he was sooooo anxious! At least now he seems to be looing forward to it! :)
