I hoped I would deliver prior to week 40....but here I am 40.3 weeks! I am so sore and ready to have this little girl already! So far I am at 4 cm and 50% effaced...With no regular contractions at all. I am starting to feel like I am a failure since I will most likely need to be induced ( scheduled for 6 am 9/26) I mean for generations woman delivered on there own...why now do we need to be helped so much? Oh well I guess I would rather her be out and healthy then to risk her being overdue and then there be worse problems.
I will be a mommy for sure this weekend :0)

Just start walking aLOT!! :) You may go on your own yet. I was 6 days over and at 4 days over we had sex, i went for a walk and then i started having more regular contractions (every 20-30 min for a bit on the friday before). Then on the Sunday they started in the morning every 10 minutes and over the weekend had a lot of bloody show. They don't want to wait 2 weeks? or do they think that its unsafe to wait? Just don't let them use the pill cytotec to induce you!!!!! Its so dangerous its not funny. I hope whatever happens everything goes well! I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your gorgeous baby girl!

BFF...you're not a failure! You just made a really comfy home for Olivia and she doesn't want to leave it yet! There's nothing wrong with being induced! You'll be holding her in your arms by Saturday! Love you!

Bah! Don't feel bad I'm only at 2cm..at least you got to 4!! I'm scheduled to go in and have the gel put on my cervix tomorrow to see if it will start anything..if not I'm going to be induced first of next week. It's pretty common for first time mommies my doctor said so don't feel like a failure.Back then they could have went overdue and just not really known it..plus they worked out on farms and all that stuff constantly so I think that is another reason why they would go easier...
