So I had my doc's appointment today...well she is not a doctor, she is a NP. But anyways everything was good, I measured 30cm instead of 31, which is ok since I always measured small with my first pregnancy. The baby's heartbeat was 152 and my blood pressure was 117/65. The nurse asked me gain about the vaccines, if I took them. She wants me to take the flu shot and the Tdap. I asked her last time if it was covered by medicaid and she told me no it wasn't and that I had to pay 100 dollars. I don't understand, if it is so essential to have, and medicaid already pays everythign than why the hell wouldn't they cover this, if she makes it that urgent. So i told her no I didnt and I don't plan to take them. She felt annoyed by my answer and asked me why was that. I told her I got sick when I took the vaccines my last pregnancy. She was like "well the flu shot might not be so urgent but you must take the Tdap...have you had the Tdap before"...I told her I volunteered for a hospital so I might have taken it...she told me she highly doubt it because the second dose was not administered among high school students here and 5-10 years ago...so anyways I said "well I don tknow I will check if I actually do"...I felt annoyed that she was being so persistant. I am sure though they tell them to be for the sake of the baby, but than again why don't they offer it at the clinic...but I have to travel 30 miles to get to the place where I have had a very bad experience the last time I went there for my little sister who needed certain vaccines to enter for college and they were being so rude and willing to let us go after waiting 2 hours because I had my husband's card and they wouldnt want to use that unless we had cash or a card in my name...i had to beg and cry and they still didn't give a shit. So anyways make the story short the nurse was so annoyed by me not wanting to take it she said "well they will probably make you take it at the hospital after you deliver"...I actually liked that idea lol, so I told her "ok than I will wait till I go to the hospital'...jeesh it was so much easier with my last pregnancy...I had my husband's insurence, and they administered the vaccines at the office where I went, and the ultrasound was very close by, or I would say to the same building...here you have to pick an office to get the ultrasound, and if the nearest is full you have to travel to the end of no where, the same for vaccines...oh and I forgot to mention that I gained 4 pounds since last two weeks...oh god I have to slow down on the sweets :/...but is so hard :(
