| 25-6-2008 - The Latest... 06/04/08 (14w4d) | My mood while writing this blog:Ok |
So, Monday night was spent in the ER because I started gushing blood when we were going to bed. The bleeding slowed down by the time we got to the ER and I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage. Yesterday I went to see my OB and she gave the same diagnosis.
A couple weeks ago I was told that I have a partial placenta previa, but that it should resolve itself later in pregnancy as my uterus grows. My OB said that, although we hadn't done anything to aggravate the situation, the bleeding was most likely caused by the previa.
I am on pelvic rest and bed rest until the bleeding stops. I don't know how long I will be on pelvic rest...how obnoxious! If this was the first trimester I'd celebrate, but now? Now I WANT to do those things and can't. The bed rest is also getting old, but it is all totally worth it...as long as we get to keep this baby. Right now, my uterus is tender to the touch and a little sore when I walk, and every night the bleeding goes away, but every morning I wake up with more. It seems to help to sleep sitting upright to some extent. I think I will sleep on the couch tonight. The hubby won't like it, but if it helps I will go back into bed tomorrow night. Let's all hope that this issue resolves itself and we get to continue this pregnancy like normal. That's all we want.
