| 30-9-2008 - Status (31w2d) | My mood while writing this blog:busy |
Had a dr. appointment yesterday. What a long, busy day that was! Work at 7:30 - 4:00, appointment from 4:20 (scheduled time, didn't get called back until 4:55) until 5:15, symphony rehearsal from 6:45 - 10:15 (including travel time), "alone time" with hubby until 1:00am. No nap. I'm exhausted.
Anyway, back to the appointment. My b/p was 117/76 (good!), my weight only increased a pound since last visit (my scale at home begs to differ...it says I'm the same :P), heartrate was good once we found it, and I'm measuring big again, but we think that's because he changed position on us.
Three weeks ago at our ultrasound he was head down. The following week I had an appointment where I measured only a week ahead. He's flipped since then. Yesterday he was head up (explains why I can't bend over and why it's easier to walk!) and I measured at 34 weeks. The doctor was a little wary about the fact that I keep measuring a little (sometimes a lot) bigger, so she ordered another ultrasound for next Thursday (YAY!). They'll be checking growth, but apparently they won't change the due date unless he's like a month ahead of schedule or something crazy like that.
In the mean time, I am feeling well, less sore and much bigger each day. I've been VERY busy at work and at home trying to get everything done. I think of this as a preview of what's to come. I've generally always been a pretty laid-back person (if it doesn't get done today, won't it still be there tomorrow? What's the rush, as long as it gets done?), but the times have changed and I can't have that attitude anymore. I have specific things that NEED to be done before I go on leave and before baby's born and specific steps to take in order to accomplish those things. In fact, I have to get going so I can be ready for my classes. Imagine this: twenty 10/11 year olds who are ALL friends, with weapons - I mean instruments - that are all capable of making very loud noises in a room together. One teacher. Add to this the fact that these 20 kids have NEVER been in the same room together for band. This is an equation for mass confusion and possibly self-destruction. Please GOD let this work out okay!
By the way, Andrew (the baby) likes going to symphony rehearsals. He squirms and kicks. I think he likes the string instruments (and I was planning on having him play bassoon! [not a string instrument]). He does NOT like 5th grade band. Too many loud ugly noises. I don't blame him. It hurts my sensitive ears too :P
Okay, I'm off. Only two hours until all the confusion is over and I get some peace. Hope everyone is feeling good and being healthy!!
