17-6-2008 - Labor

My mood while writing this blog: happy and tired

I went to the Doctor on May 23, 2008 for my regular 38 week appointment. They checked my blood pressure and It was over 100 on the bottom number. So I went straight to the hospital for them to stop my labor. At 2:00 they induced me and oh my gosh the contractions started. They were like cramps from hell. They were coming 2 minutes apart and I couldn't ever breathe. The nurse came in and gave me a shot that helped me go to sleep. When I awoke they began my epi. I went through 5 bags of that stuff. My legs were soo swollen I could even pick them up. The next day at about 5:00pm the doctor came in and broke my water. She assured us that McKinsey would be born today on Saturday the 24. I was 4 cm all day until about 8pm when I had a strong earge to push. They checked me and I was 8 cm. The doctor was on her way. At 9:30 the doctor helped me go from 9 and a half to 10 cm. We were ready. At 11:48 pm. McKinsey finally arrived. She was 6 pounds and 3 ounces and 19 inches long. we were soooooo happy and tired.
