My mood while writing this blog: irritated |
So, it’s not even 9am yet and I’m already irritated. When I had my last m/c I only took a week off work to have a d&c and do my best to recover physically and emotionally (my doc recommended 2 weeks) and when I came back, my work wrote me up even though they knew what was going on. I had to change positions and all this other crap. They have been usually pretty flexible with me missing work or coming in late because of my horrible morning sickness (last 2 pregnancies). I missed work Friday cuz I was just feeling like shit and today I show up, and I get written up! Now I’m on 60 day probation and I ready to tell this place to fuck off!!! I sat in a hour of traffic, wanting to barf in my lap, to come to work and hear this shit?? Excuse my language but it’s like, I’m not in the mood for this. So I had to tell my supervisor that I was pregnant and I didn’t want to say anything yet but I felt like I had to. Anyways, had to get that out, sorry…

Wednesday, 8 Apr I had the exact same thing happen to me with my last job...I had a miscarriage on a sunday @ like 4 am...went to the ER & all that jazz (didn't need a D&C) I actually went to work on the Monday & they knew exactly what had happened & I was written up for wearing running shoes--in an office where we don't even see clients...I was on the phone all day...needless to say my emotions took over & I reaged on my manager & stormed out. About 5 minutes later the owner of the company called me apologizing and yadda yadda yadda--I ended up quitting less than a month later. I now have a much less stressful position (although i've taken a significant paycut - I now make less than 1/2 of my old salary) I work at Toys R us! & love it!! no stress & a great discount.
Although, I don't think my miscarriages have been stress related-I had one at 11 weeks pregnant while being a TRU employee...however they were VERY understanding an accomodating-even though I never actualy missed any work with (either) miscarriages.
Maybe it's time you found a better employer...
HUGS & CONGRATS on this pregnancy...hopefully I'm right behind you! JK8488 -
Wednesday, 18 Mar Could you talk to your boss and see if your doctor filled out a FMLA form I think that it may be listed under a cronic illness and have them back date it a month that way you would only get a total of 1 accurance for a year or as long as your doctor makes it out for. Would they honor it .That is what I had to do for migraines where I work and they said if I thought that I may miss work due to being pregnant that is one way to only get a total of one accurance. May help. Not sure what your companies FMLA policies are. Just something to look into!!!! Hope you feel better soon. jesslf -
Monday, 16 Mar Sorry to hear that your place of work isn't a nice place. What did your supervisor say after you told her? Some work places just plain out stink! It was very hard just having one m/c, I can't imagine having 2 I would be a wreck! I worked during and after my first pregnancy and alittle bit w/ second, (I got to quit my job to stay home). The working conditions were terrible but my other co-workers helped alot. What kind of work do you do? I wish they were more understanding for you, especially after all you went through, but maybe now that you told your supervisor things might be different?
