My mood while writing this blog: curious |
Ok so for most people who will read this you may not be considering any permanent form of birth control but there may be some of you considering something or knows of someone who has done something.Im just wanting some opinion and input please. Also there may be some of you that do not believe in birth control and may not agree with anything written or expressed here so for that Im sorry please do not take offense! I actually am Catholic and do know the beliefs on BC(which is to the church wrong) but I feel at this piont in my life I have definetly put in my contribution to the world!LOL Ok so my husband as of months ago was seriously anti Vasectomy he just thinks it is awful to have to have someone shaving his privates, clipping, burning etc.I can understand the humility but seriously after 4 child births, yearly exams and many peoples faces in my area he will experience a walk in the park compared to what Ive gone through!. So his suggestion was to get my tubes tied! Thing is I do not typically have csections! I have vaginal births and recovery is fairly easy, I mean the bleeding, sore privates for a few days and cramping are my main issues! Well obviously with a tubal I will give birth hoping I do not have to get an episiotomy! Then roll me into the OR and cut me where I have never been cut before after 4 births!Lets just say SURGERY! So I have been asking some friends and they too suggest Vasectomy because of how easy it! I call my insurance company and all we will owe is like $15.00 WOW thats it! Procedure takes less than a half of an hour and basically he wont remember! So I explain this all to him and I think he is seriously considering this! He now agrees it is stupid for me to undergo the extra surgery! Ok so....any one else considering doing a tubal,or partner a Vasectomy or do you have any other suggestions beside pills, ring,or IUD? We really need something good my husband and I seem to get pregnant when our underwear sits in the same drawer together and if I turn up preggo again Im not sure I will still be married !LOL Thats a joke...he is seriously not a mean man but this preg was about to put us over(atleast at the begining!) Ok I have once gotton preg on pills and this one is iffy...and the IUD is a little on the controversial side in my opinion but.....I know there is other things and was just wondering what you all think! Sorry if any of this was too personal or controversial for you!

Thursday, 15 Oct I used the Depo for about 11 years and the IUD for 1 year and had it removed to get pregnant which happened immediately. I am not for or against birth control, so I can understand your concern. I asked my husband to get a vasectomy and he will not consider it. The reason I do not want a tubal is that when I had another child years ago 14 almost 15 years ago she died and I was going to get my tubes tied then and something told me not to. So my advice is to think long and hard sorry I do not have any real advice cause this is a hard decision to make. due4number-4 -
Thursday, 15 Oct I was given information on birth control the other day at a prenatal visit with the midwives l was told that females can be sterilised by two small incisions made and with a laprascope they put in special clips on the fallopian tubes to make it impossible 4 sperm to reach the egg .but this procedure is not easy to reverse and with the vasectomy you cannot have it reversed so need to be 100%sure .Not sure if you have heard of the Depo-Provera (three monthly injection) it actually stops your periods and prevents the release of eggs from the ovary ....for me l think l will try the injections as l know for sure the norm pill l always forget to take them and even though this is our 4th l can't bring myself around to actually saying no more even though l know we won't have any more Good luck with your decision Mackvaldez -
Tuesday, 13 Oct My hubby is getting a Vasectomy, his choice. He said it makes more since because it is a much easier surgery than a tubal. I will be having a C section, but not getting my tubes tied.... Good luck!! johanne-raven-babybump -
Tuesday, 13 Oct Well I'm getting fixed! So I say go girl do what you gotta do! This is also my last child! And it's not that bad to have your tubes tied. 30 min and you go home that day.... they go in through you bellybutton. But whatever you want Pat74 -
Tuesday, 13 Oct I am also catholic and i will be having a tubel when i have my c sec done on the 11 i have had 3 children and this is the 4th and i am done. I think that they are safe and effective and i dont want any more babys ha ha no suprises for me all planned pg s. But if he is willing to get clipped let him do it so you wont have to get cut. Good luck and god bless. Oh and if he is going to get it done i would get on it cause i think i would like to have it out of the way before you give birth that way you know that he is going to do it and not change his mind after you have the baby and you have to make a special trip to hospital to have the tubal done. Tuesday, 13 Oct I also don't believe in BC, but I am in the same situation. The only exception is I do have c-sections, but I refuse to get my tubes tied. The recovery is long, you can get pg in your tubes; just overall bad things can happen down the line. So my husband and I were talking about him getting a vasectomy. He was all for it, now he seem to be having a change of heart. His recovery is faster, and it is reversible. For some reason (idk why he talked to them about this) his family has told him some silly stuff like oh you may not be able to perform again, or you may get cancer! I'm like the risks of that happening is slim to none. I have thought about Mirena. I have a latex allergy so condoms are out; and lamb skin is sooooo expensive. I guess until we make a solid decision, we will use the spermicidal jelly (we start off doing this, but some how we be too much in the moment!) and I have to stick to my guns because I really don't want to have to go through another c-section. Best wishes to you and your family on your final decision.
