12-9-2008 - 27 Weeks Update

Wow...tomorrow is the first day of my third trimester. I really can't believe it. At first it seemed so far away but really it seems like yesterday when Steven came for his three week R&R...we got engaged...he went back....a week later took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I'm so glad this happened the way it did. I really wish he could have experienced our first pregnancy with me, but I think she was a gift sent to me to help me through this aweful time with him in Iraq. I don't know how I would have made it without the thoughts of my daughter on the way. It would've been the saddest time of my life and instead it's one of the most exciting...definately difficult and emotionally trying, but wonderful at the same time. I really hope this last trimester goes by just as quickly. When little Gabrielle Faith Mounlavong arrives...her daddy and my love will be home a short three months later. Okay three months is not so short, but it is when it's already been 12 without him. I miss him so much and I love him with all my heart. He's given me the greatest gift I could ever ask for and I hope we can do the same for him when he returns.

So far the pregnancy has been amazingly easy. Three months of being really really exhausted but no morning sickness aside from occasionaly getting car sick or a dizzy spell once and a while. I've gained 20 lbs and lately have had lots of energy I"m not sure I had even before I was pregnant. I know this will soon change but I definately like to keep busy while I feel so good. Really my worst complaint is really bad heartburn (which I have always suffered anyway) and occasional constipation which usually hurts for a couple of days then eventually resolves itself. Oh yeah and a really sore tailbone which started at the very begininning. I assume it's mainly from sitting in less than comfy chairs with 20 pounds more pressure on my butt than usual.

Just 3 more weeks until my 4-d ultrasound and I can't wait. It will be the first one in Virginia so it's the first one my mom gets to attend. I can't wait to see my little angel's face. I hope she looks like her daddy so when I look at her while he's away, it will be like looking at him. I am excited also to get it all recorded on dvd so I can send it over to Iraq. It will be the first ime Steven gets to see his baby moving around inside of me. He gets all the u/s pics, but the pics don't do justice to actually seeing her alive and kicking and stretching. It makes it so much more real.
