My mood while writing this blog: Frustrated. |
So I need some advice...you all know how I've said before that Anna LOVES the movie Madagascar? If you don't know, Anna watches this movie about 3 times a day. She calls it, "Marty" and will point to the TV and say, "Marty?? Marty?! Please?!" Well, there is a part in the movie where all the animals spit sea water out of their mouths and it sprays everywhere. Anna has now taken to doing that ALL the frickin time... if she is drinking anything, she sprays it everywhere. Every time she does it, I take away whatever she is drinking and tell her that only animals spit and is she is going to act like an animal, then I will take away her sippy because animals do NOT get sippy cups. Its a regular argument every day. My MIL says I shouldn't let her watch the movie anymore... but I fear what that would do. She LOVES the movie... and would be quite distraught if I didn't let her watch it anymore. Advice????

Wednesday, 14 Jan Oh boy, I won't show that movie to my baby girl. But that is a hard one, just tell her not to spit because that's not nice. I tell J-dee that all the time when she does something wrong. And to be a good girl. Try Alvin and the Chipmunk, the Movie. J-dee loves that movie. It came out last year. And it has animals in it. She would enjoy it and it's very funny too, no spitting either. J-dee can watch that move 3 times a day. She absolutely loves it. The animals look real too. cait -
Wednesday, 14 Jan That's a hard one Nita. Maybe introduce another one for now she might take to it. But if you think about it each kids movie has something you are not going to want her to do. Liliana LOVES the little mermaid. Like Anna she runs to the tv saying "ARIEL!!!" I was scared she would try brushing her hair with a fork since they do in the movie but so far so good. Its your call she could pick something from another movie. Maybe let her spit in the sink or tub saying lets me like marty only here?? Just a thought then she might be in the bathroom spitting all day aghh these kids! luvbeingamom -
Wednesday, 14 Jan My son went through that too. I did what you did. Just take it away when he did it. I said that is an outside/bathtub game. I let him do it but under much more controlled situations. Also, just take the cup and don't explain the same thing everyday, she is doing it for attention and you reacting is giving her what she wants. I wouldn't take the movie away. Good Luck!
