So I fell off the planet for a short while. Anna and I were visiting some friends in Missouri (8 hour drive south of where I live) and we both ended up catching a stomach bug... Rotavirus, to be specific. We were staying with a friend who thought that her daughter was over it. Unfortunately, she wasn't and we caught it. Poor Anna was vomiting constantly and couldn't even keep down her Motrin. At one point her fever spiked 104 and I was so worried I was going to have to take her to the ER. Luckily, it went down. But the poor thing was just as sick as can be. Then I caught it and being sick on TOP of having a VERY ROUGH pregnancy is NO FUN. I was getting worried because I wasn't even keeping down water and I know that I need to stay hydrated. It was also hard because we weren't home and I couldn't make the drive back home 8 hours while both of us were vomiting. Luckily, my friends are awesome and we were able to stay there and wait out the sickness. We were able to come home yesterday since Anna hadn't thrown up or was running a fever for over 24 hours. I was still kinda sick, but good enough to drive home... and good thing I did, too. Anna has had TERRIBLE diarrhea all day... to the point where it is making me vomit to change the diapers.
I'm supposed to go in for my ultrasound tomorrow. Luckily, I'm over the bug (no fever or vomiting *except for the smell of the poopy diaper* for over 24 hours) but I worry that I can't take Anna to the doctor's office with me since she is just now starting up the diarrhea. Does anyone think that means she still has the virus in her system?? Because I cannot take her to the OB and spread it. I'll have to find a sitter. Boo.

Bless my husbands heart, he is going to skip out on the ultrasound tomorrow so he can stay home with Anna. I feel bad that he is going to miss it, but I am just too paranoid about taking Anna to the doctor's office.

Oh my gosh, how miserable! I hope that you BOTH are completely better and soon! I, too, would probably find a sitter. You don't want to run the risk of getting anyone else sick, even if she appears to be doing better.

Oh my gosh, that sounds awful! I'm so glad you're both feeling mostly better. I'd find a sitter if I were you, though, just in case!
